Patrick Swayze is in Edmonton to play a big part in Christmas In Wonderland, the family movie being filmed primarily at West Edmonton Mall.

The mall this morning announced the actor, famous for his sexy roles in Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and other films, has been cast in the film.

A source close to the film’s production said it’s hoped Swayze will be available for interviews next week.

“He has a lot of work to do. He’s buckling down,” said the source.

The movie is about a family lacking in Christmas spirit because they moved away from their American home to Edmonton just days before Christmas.

Swayze plays the father of four in the movie.
