is having a Christmas in July 40th birthday party for me on july 19th. My actual birthday is July22, but wow! I can't believe it. he did an invitation with a melting snowman that invited people. I feel like I should show up dressed like an elf or something. I'm a little freaked out about turning 40. But, what the heck... right?

Was it suppose to be a suprise party? I think it is so sweet that he is not only have a party for you but including your love of the holiday season!! You have yourself one heck of a husband!!!

Don't worry about turning 40! It is just a number and you stay in the same "age" bracket if you know what I mean.. please check what applies 18-34 or 35-54 (35 was my hiccup.. I didn't want to change age brackets)

So sit back, smile and and enjoy!!!! ( and Happy Birthday)

cheesy That's great news, Yuletide! If it's supposed to be a surprise, don't let on that you found out - keep it going.

Hope you have a great time.

40 wasn't as hard as 44, do what I did - start counting backwards.

cheesy Soon, I'll be 22 again!

Have fun! They pulled off a 50th surprise for me this year. It was in April and my birthday was May 9th. I was so out of it all....clueless. But, I have to tell you that at 50, I feel better than I did at 40. Enjoy your party!!!

How cool! Have a great time. Just turned 40 in February.
I am sure that your party will be great. Enjoy yourself! As hot as it is, you may have to trade the elf suit for a swim suit!

Don't let it bother you, you're only thirty-ten after all. You have another ten years until you are in your real forties!

Aww that's so sweet of him.

It's not only thirty-ten, it's twenty-twenty. You'll gain so much wisdom from hindsight vision.

I hope you have a lovely time. :)

I found 30 WAY worse than 40. What's that saying...???

"You're not getting older, you're getting better"!!!!!!!

The only thing I find I can't do anymore is cartwheels, which isn't that big a deal. When I'm doing a wedding, it's really not expected for the Registrar to come bounding down the aisle a la Olga Korbet!!!!!!

Word of warning - IF you do decide to try a cartwheel, remember those cartoons where Sylvester or Coyote get hit over the head and they see little birds and stars floating around??? They actually happen!!!!

check out my post - i put a new thread up about it - all was so great - i almost started crying with everyone singing happy birthday. My Dad died a year ago and I really wanted him to be there. I just miss him so much and I sort of always knew that he wouldn't make it till July 2008. I know he was watching over me when I blew out my candles on my goofy Santa Claus cake. He always thought my Christmas obsession was crazy - yet he loved it almost as much as me.
Everyone was so kind. It's nice to see people care about you...it's easy to lose track of that sometimes.

Thank you for sharing that with us, Yuletide! And for reminding us how nice it does feel when people show they care about us. Maybe I can do a little more in the way of showing that care. :nice:

I have tried to post photos here and for some reason it just wouldn't work. Soooo, I have a facebook page now and if anyone wants they can go there and look up Aliza McVicker and request to be a "friend" and then you can see everything about the party and me.
Thanks for all the great birthday wishes!
