I'm trying to get ahold of some Christmas music from my childhood. I subscribe to Real Rhapsody and Music Match but still can't find some of the versions of songs I'm looking for. My mother has them on vinyl. I have the know how and some of the software to reproduce them on a disk. I just don't have a turntable and she lives in Maryland and I live in Florida. I don't think she would ship them to me. She would be afraid of something happening to them. My only hope is that some one else may have copies of these songs that they may have converted and would be willing to share them. One in particular is the Les Brown version of We wish you the Merriest. I'm not looking for the June Christy version. So far that's is the only version I could find. Another favorite of mine is an Andy Williams Album called Christmas with Andy Williams and the Williams Brothers. I have a list but I thought I'd start out slow and see what kind of a response I get. :-)
Thanks,

Well we already kind of talked about it. She's attached to them. Besides neither one of us owns a turntable so they are just sitting in a box. I know a couple of the albums she has are out of print.

Well my mom is supposed to ship the albums to me. A co-worker is going to let me borrow his turntable. The albums I am looking for are out of print. Even people at Fa la la la la.com couldn't help me. I know I posted the list somewhere.

The Joy Of Christmas
Christmas with Andy Williams and the Williams Brothers
The first three are the limited edition ones. There are other albums with similar titles but they are not it. The are all out of prent and have never been put on cd.

I have Real Rhapsody and Music Match and neither one of them have any of those albums. They are out of print. You won't find them anywhere.

Well since I've started this post those albums are on their way to me. My mom shipped them and they should arrive today! A co-worker is going to lend me his turn table and I have the software to convert them from vinyl to cd. Wah Hoo! I miss these albums.

If that works for you, HN7, I will send you my red Christmas album to convert and you can make yourself a copy and I'll pay for shipping both ways and say nice stuff about you the next time someone asks, "What do you think of that HN7?" Deal?

I'd be more then happy to do that for you whether you said nice things about me or not. What is the Red Album? Is it something that is out of print? My mom accidently sent me one album I didn't ask for. She also didn't send me one I did ask for.

It's called "Organ and Chimes" by Robert Rheims. I have a picture of it, except my record is red, not black. I just found a green one for sale for $16 online.

Sounds festive! Send it I'll convert it for you. I have the turn table and receiver hooked up. I'm waiting for the record cleaner to arrive that I ordered. It should be here by the end of the week. My moms albums aren't in too bad a shape. They just need some cleaning. There's quite a bit of crackle which I'm sure is due to dust.

Here's a sweet new product at Costco and a few other places for just such an occasion:

converted all my vinyl, cassettes to digital and ripped all my cds to hard drvies and backup hard drives. Nice to be able make custom playlists and such. Hooked computer to home stereo.

Pretty nice. Not as trendy looking, but just as functional, which is all that matters to me. Thanks.
