Hi there!
It's the first time I join a forum in English. I hope that you'll be able to understand what I say, as I'm coming from the French speaking part of Switzerland.
There is no forum about Christmas in French... then nobody to talk with about one of the best period of the year (according to me)!
When I was a little girl, I was drawing Santas all the time. My mother was getting crazy, haha.
Now, one of my favourite hobbies is making cross stitch Christmas ornaments, taking care of my 4 cats & garden and buying antique furniture.
Delphine :-)

Hello and Welcome

Thanks!
@ Jay...
I suppose that Christmas here is the same as in England (it's 1 hour far away by plane) : all the family around the tree & presents, nice food, etc.
I read on the forum that many people open the presents in the morning. My family open the presents in the evening. I love it, as the night is dark, the candles are shining on the tree, we are excited since the morning...
The thing I regret is that there is less and less snow here. Last year there was no snow (but I was living in Geneva and it's quite "warm" there. The snow melts too fast).
But now I'm living in another part of Switzerland (in a small village, where the Absinth is produced, hehe!) and it's colder. It can snow during days and days. I really love white Christmas!
But the most wonderful villages are in the Alps, of course! It's like in children books :-)

Even though English isn't you first language it is okay because here we speak through the Christmas spirit. Welcome!

cheesycheesy Thanks so much for your messages in French! I think there is a lot of French expressions in English (double jeu, coup de grâce, cul de sac...).
And of course, there is more and more English expressions here too! Funny!

:hello: Hey, one of my favourite Christmas songs is NOEL, NOEL and that's French although the versions I have are in English.
:)) Make yourself at home.
