One of the things that really came into focus during Christmas in July is how easy it is to fall behind on "normal" stuff when you are working a holiday plan. So this year I will make sure that all the "daily" routines are finished before adding in the holiday stuff. I know...doesn't sound much fun but I really think it will actually make all planning easier. So that is my goal between now and August 31st when the Houseworks Holiday Plan starts....get those routines to become a habit.

Some daily reminders:

1. What you pick up today...won't have to be stumbled over tomorrow.
2. Do a little everyday and don't give up! Little things start to make a big difference.
3. Decluttering makes life and cleaning EASIER...let go of the clutter.
4. Remember perfection is not the KEY...persistance is!
5. Find the things that work....and do them!
6. Take time to celebrate progress.
7. Don't give up easily...try something for at least amonth before changing.
8. Keep the Month by Month notebook, viewable, pretty, and up to date.

How about you? How do you remind yourself to keep on track?

My biggest thing to stay organized is to make sure the kitchen is clean and tidy before bed each night and anything that is laying around is put away. I don't have small children in the house anymore, as mine are pretty much grown, so it is easier for me to keep on top of things.
I also make a daily to do list of the 6 most important things to do the next day.
I keep a planner for what needs to be done month by month, holiday by holiday, season by season.
I have always been organized and sometimes wonder if I am not an OCD candidate for that. LOL

Yep. The routines are the thing that saves us, Gingerbug. Not just during Christmas - every day!
I try to do my morning routines before anything else! And then, I do a whole house pickup at the end of the day. Of course, since I am a morning person, I do the whole-house pickup as early as I can. 5:30 or earlier. Then I just try to keep on top of things through dinner, dishes and on until bedtime.
