I wasn't really sure where to post this question, but this seems like the best place. Anybody here get the Christmas with Southern Living books? I was wondering if you'd gotten yours yet and what you thought of it. I'm not nearly as impressed with this year's edition as previous years (especially 2004 and 2005). The 2006 edition seems more like a cookbook than anything. I like good holiday recipes, but I always like the SL Christmas books for the decorating and gift ideas. Anybody else have any thoughts?

I usually get mine from my SIL since she is a consultant for Southern Living at Home. I haven't seen this year's yet. I have liked the previous years, though.

I've never subscribed, but I have always liked what I saw while waiting for the dentist. I subscribe to Yankee magazine. They have a cool Christmas issue as well, though not nearly as large. 8)

I did see the book in one of the craft stores. I didn't buy it because I wasn't thrilled with it either. I bought The Spirit of Christmas 20th Anniversary Edition by Leisure Arts instead. It's quite nice. Some recipes and lots of crafts and decorating ideas.
