As Minister of all things chattable and official European Envoy to the My Merry Christmas Empire (at least that's what my blurb says), I'd like to cordially invite all our members on this side of the pond to our themed chats which are held approx. 3 times a month.

For those of you who are new on the scene and those of you who have been around for a while but otherwise engaged during the summer, let me share the theory and August's itinerary.

Each chat is held at 8pm GMT. This is so we can participate - there is a duplicate chat held later the same day on for our North American friends (who also join in at this time, but it's afternoon for them) but unless you're really a night owl, it's at 1am GMT!! The days vary between Sundays and Thursdays mostly and we cover a vast range of topics. To date, we've chatted about Magic Elves and how they can help or hinder your Christmas plans (!), organising a Christmas notebook/calendar to help you take the hassle and stress out of the season by planning in advance and Halloween party themes and books suitable for yourself and your own little monsters!

There are 3 themed chats planned for August.

The first is on Sunday August 10th (8pm GMT) and will cover Autumn Crafts, centring on things we can make for decor or to give as gifts

The second is on Thursday August 21st (8pm GMT) and will be featuring discussions on Memory Keepers. This will focus on ways to preserve family memories such as scrapbooking, Christmas Journals etc.

The last for August is on Sunday August 31st (8pm GMT) and is Organising for Christmas; Holiday Cleaning/Prep Plans. Can't even begin to tell you how useful this one's going to be so pop along and pick up a few tips to make the season less panic-ridden!!

If you click on the calendar on the bar at the top, and then go to the relevant date, you have the option of setting up a reminder for yourself when you click on the particular event. You can be sent a message up to 3 days beforehand which will then ensure you're at your computer, dogs walked and dishes washed by the start time!!!!

Looking forward to seeing old friends and new in the Christmas Cupboard - everybody's welcome!!!

Great topics for the chats! What about some additional chats on the cleaning/organizing plans -- to keep us on target. Or near target. Or remembering that there is a target.....

Sorry you're going to miss it but you'll have a brilliant time at the wedding and I'm sure Gingerbug will be taking loads of notes for the summary so you can catch up before the next one. That's the thing about organising chatters; they check up on you to see what you've done since the last time which definitely spurs you onto accomplishing something!!!! We will certainly be having another organising one; stay tuned for further details!!

We have scored bigtime for this particular chat on August 31st. We are going to have an Expert Guest Speaker (okay chatter) join us.

Cynthia Townley Ewer, author of "Houseworks: Cut the Clutter, Speed Your Cleaning and Calm the Chaos" (http://www.amazon.com/Houseworks-Clutter-Speed-Cleaning-Chaos/dp/0756613612/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1217378155&sr=8-1) will be joining us!. Cynthia is also the webmaster of OrganizedChristmas where we have been viewing all those fabulous forms. She is the author of both the Houseworks Holiday Plan AND the Christmas Countdown.

She was also in on the beginnings of the Holiday Grand Plan written by Katie Leckey and continues to maintain the forms for that plan. The HGP was written by Katie Leckey with contributions from the Prodigy Homelife Get O group in 1992-1993 of which Cynthia was a member.

So please MARK your calendars...this is a chat you will not want to miss. Remember, you can set a reminder for yourself.

Now, for those of you that aren't sure how to get into chat, the first thing is to make sure you've made 25 posts. If you've got that, all you then have to do is click on the word "chat" in the red bar up top. This red bar also has UserCP, Forum Rules, Blogs, FAQ, Donate, Members List, CHAT, Groups, Calendar etc. If you click on that word, it will take you directly into the chat room. When you get there, you just type what you want to say in the box at the bottom and hit either "send" or your enter button. It's that simple!!!! Look forward to seeing you all
