...use the self check out and talk back to it:
"Welcome to Wal Mart, please scan your first item"
Shut up.
"$3.84. Please scan your next item."
You're ugly.
"$1.97. Please scan your next item."
Please shut your fat trap...
"Insert cash or select payment type."
Kiss my butt.
"Your receipt will print below the payment device."
Tell me you love me.
"Thank you for shopping at Wal Mart."
Up yours.

Sandy kept telling ME to be quiet. Go figger.
I always ask it how it feels to put people out of work.

YES, brilliant!!! Very good. Kinda like that Kevin Costner character in his new movie "Swing Vote" -- they is "insourcing".

Wonder how well that would work with a live cashier?

Maybe I am the minority here but I LOVE self checkout. I work in retail and I see how apathetic people are about their jobs. The old mantra any job is worth doing right has died. I would much rather do it myself then deal with some ignorant person that feels there are doing you a favor by checking you out.
BUT.. I do talk back to them when I can't get it to do what I want it to do! My DH actually yells at it!! He did that last night at the Giant. And yes I did laugh!!!cheesy

I'm the same - self-checkout rules!!!!! The good thing is it doesn't answer back although I have caught myself giving myself an answer after speaking to it...........
Should I be worried???!!!!!

NAAA.. only worry if you find yourself telling yourself off.. you know what I mean????

Nope, don't do that at the checkout; I generally save that for standing in a queue at the bank!!

Customer gets banned from Wal-Mart for being rude to the auto cashier ... next on Springer!
:hello: They put one of those in our local Wal-Mart about three months ago. The only time I've gone through it is when nobody was in line waiting. It has about six check-outs and tells you which one to advance to.
Ick! I'd rather have a live clerk so I can point out when a sale (oh yeah, lower priced item - no sales) item doesn't go through at the correct price.
It's really meant for quick check outs. I love when people go to it with two full grocery carts. Drives me nuts!!!

No, what drives me nuts is one cashier, a long line and ALL the self-serve check outs are closed.

I like it when theres someone in the self checkout with a whole over flowing cart of groceries

Even better is when the person with the full cart doesn't speak English and is pressing the buttons saying "Que?, Que?" and going nowhere.

When I'm at Wal-Mart, or any store for that matter, sometimes, when someone talks on the intercom I'll cover my ears and scream "AHHH, IT'S THE VOICES AGAIN, SHUT UP SHUT UP!!!"

I have only been to Wal-Mart twice and I have never bought anything.

Walmart is great, we shop there all the time...But if you stay in the store too long you can actually FEEL your I.Q. dropping...

ok! I have a story that I think everyone will laugh at! Me and my husband was at walmart and we're in the woman's section and he grabs a bra and yells across the isle at me "Honey what's this and why don't you wear these??" So me being the smart butt that I am I go to the Jock itch cream (mind you he's following me through the store and don't suspect a thing) I pick up a tube of cream and scream to him " honey here's your jock itch cream!!" Needless to say he never tried to embarrass me ever again!! This is all at Christams time and the stores were loaded with people!

My darling husband won't even use the self check out!:-? He says he's paying extra and that these discount stores should sack the groceries AND put them in the cart!!

LOL...that's too funny and something my DH would do!!
Mind you, I would NOT find it quite as funny if I were standing with my DH while he were doing it. :-?
