Simple rule in our house - goes for everyone!
No believing in Santa - NO GIFTS!
Funny how everyone (including myself), still believes!

The worst Christmas I can recall is the year I didn't believe. The following year and continuous years have been a joy. I'll never stop believing now and Christmas is as magical as ever.

I have to agree with that rule. Being a first grade teacher, there are so many that say there isn't a Santa. I do tell them that I believe...because I do! I had one little guy, Logan, who came to me because he was sad about hearing some say this. I told him to just let them think what they wanted. I told him that you and I believe and that's what's important. Don't ever lose that. He shook his head in agreement and we both smiled at each other. He walked away feeling a whole lot better.

I was asked by my youngest granddaughter if I thought Santa was real. I said, "Oh yes, I believe in Santa." She said, "okay, I thought so." That was it. Later her mom said, she enjoys "playing Santa" and giving gifts from Santa and from her and her husband to the children, but she doesn't want to make them believe if they don't so when she is asked if she believes, she answers much in the same way I do. This year, she talked about the legend of Santa and left it to her eight year old daughter to decide for herself if he was real or not. I saw the letter she wrote to Santa and I'm convinced she still believes in him. You should have seen the size of the carrot she left out for the reindeer, I've never seen one so large, I'm sure it would have fed all eight (or nine if Rudolph is needed). She made sure Santa's cookie plate and glass of milk were right up on the fireplace mantel with the letter so he wouldn't eat their Gingerbread sleigh by accident. HaHa.

:hello: When I started to question if Santa was real, my brothers kept me going for a good two years after that. They always had an answer for me. Once, they even took the time to make what appeared to be reindeer prints in the yard and they knew I was getting smarter so they actually went across the street and made prints over there too so I wouldn't wonder why he didn't stop there. They took my dad's boots and left a few bits of snow inside the door so it would melt by morning and I'd wonder why the floor was wet. Proof again that Santa was there.
