tomorrow is ny nan's 89th birthday, thank god she is still going strong and is a wonderful woman. she is fiercely protective of her family, would give her last penny to any of us and is always there if any of us need to chat.

tomorrow we are having a small family gathering at her home, my mum is doing all the food and drink and we will all sit together and toast this wonderful woman and be proud of the fact she has reached 89 and is still going strong. i can't tell you how much i love her, she is such a strong but loving character and always has us all in fits of laughter! we lost my grandad on christmas day 1993, yet she still enjoys christmas and makes it special for all of us.

lately i haven't has such a great time with my career and some family problems with my dad but you know what? health is more important than anything and i am so blessed to be able to share tomorrow with my family and just be in their company, i know it doesn't sound like much but i am so looking forward to tomorrow. family - that's what it's all about. x

89! Wow. My Grandmother is turning 90 and still going strong. It seems they will outlive us :P

That is awesome! Family is what its all about! I lost my grandparents when I was about 10 or 11 years old. I dont remember a whole lot about them but have pictures and videos to keep their spirits alive. My grandfather's birthday was on Christmas and we always had such a lovely time. I didnt realize until just a few years ago (Im 25 years old now) just how much I miss those times! Cherish family always thats for sure! Hope you have a blessed day!

Bless her little heart... grandma's can hold such a special place in our hearts... and your grandma sounds like a pretty neat lady. I hope she enjoys her day today to the fullest!

Nan = maternal or paternal female grandparent. Also known coloquially as Gran, Granny, Grandma, Gramma, Nana, Grammy etc. etc.
