:rudolph:What is your favorite scented candle to burn? Right now, I have two candles to burn during the holidays, one is Santa's Cookie, and the other is Christmas Cookie. Since I start burning holiday scented candles right around Thanksgiving, I want to find one or two more.

:snowball:Thanks for the great ideas everyone! I heard of most of the ones mentioned except for the peppermint one. I bet thats a nice one, as are all the other ones mentioned. I do buy yankee candle tarts for my tart burner, but usually buy a cheaper one for regular burning. YC is too expensive, and the cheaper brand ones I buy are just as good.

Kerst, scented candles have that effect on some of my relatives. So - of course, I am very very careful not to burn scented candles when thy are around. Luckily, it does not both them if people wear modest amount of perfume. Oh - and for some reason, lavender does not both them!

I have a Pumpkin Pie candle. Yum! Also, for inexpensive candles, sometimes at Michael's you can find "tins" of candles in their dollar stuff. I had a couple last year of Autumn Leaves and Pumpkin Spice. They smelled really good, don't last as long as they are small (but bigger than a tea light) and at only $1 you can get many different scents.

Apple cinnamon and citrus scented. I also like pine depending on the strength of the scent. I did get an autumn leaves one from yankee candle one year and I loved the scent of that.

Shockingly, AC Moore has some awesome candles for $3ish a piece! The big jar kind! I'm a candle snob (I loooove Henri Bendel, but at $26 a pop, yikes!) and I absolutely love them. I'ma ctually burning Holiday Spice now. hehe

I love the apple spice, pumpkin, mistletoe and home for the holidays. The last two are from Yankee candle. I just found out that I can buy Yankee Candle Scentstory discs for the Febreeze Scentstory machine! They are only like 9.99 a disk and have all the same great smells as the real candles and they are sooo cheap compared to buying all the candles from YC. So I'm going to get the disks for the autumn seasons and Christmas seasons for the everyday use

I don't have a favorite scent but I do know that I do not care for the scent of Vanilla. I'm not sure what it is but I could do without it.

I like anything pumpkin for the Fall and Thanksgiving. Hollyberry, Evergreen and Christmas cookie for Christmas. I do have some sugar cookie one's I burn all year but my hubby doesnt like the house always smelling like baked goods! I use to buy mainly Yankee Candles but Michaels/ AC Moore (Craft stores) sell candles a lot cheaper and they seem to smell just as nice!

I buy Yankee Candles and their electric plug ins when I have a coupon, catch a clearance sale or visit the outlet store down in Williamsburg. I have a number of my Christmas favorite Sparking Pine that I picked up after Christmas last year and stored.
I also fill in a lot with the Glade products, which I also stock up on. I have a house with pets and my grandmother's Cherokee sense of smell, so cleaning and freshening are musts for me.
My Christmas favorites:
Sparkling Pine
Gingerbread Maple
Spiced Pumpkin
Glade's Glistening Snow
I'm currently burning:
Autumn Leaves
Autumn Wreath
Cinnamon & Sugar
The rest of the year I love:
Greenhouse
Fresh Cut Herbs
Sun & Sand
Blueberry Scone
Dune Grass

I like:
warm cinnamon pumkin
Yankee candle's "Macintosh"
vanilla
sugar cookie
and etc.
Speaking of yankee candles, if you are ever in the Williamsburg, VA area be sure and stop at the Yankee Candle Store, I was expecting just candles and such for sale.
Nope, it's a Christmas wonderland with snow falling from the ceiling, a beautiful huge tree, villages and so much more. I hope to go back and take my grandchildren, it's awesome there.

I'm with you there! I only burn pumpkin, apple cinnamon, cranberry--all fall/winter scents--year round. And I have several of those small electric potpourri crocks. I use liquid potpourri in pumpkin, apple cinnamon, cranberry as well. To me, these scents help keep Christmas in the air all year long.

I just saw this thread....about an hour ago, I bumped up a thread about candles I had started awhile back! There must be more people than just me with candles on their brain! Lol! :)
I have a "candle lady" I get most of my candles from. My favorites at Christmas from her are Christmas Tree, & Christmas Splendor (cinnamon & pine) I love Yankee's Hollyberry, Christmas Wreath & I just bought their Red Berry & Cedar, Eggnog, & Silver Bells in tarts. I also love Yankee's Christmas Eve & Home For The Holidays. I posted in a couple other threads that when I went to Ben Franklin on Saturday I was very excited to see that they had their Yankee Candle Christmas display up!!!
I am also a "candle snob" & I buy the more expensive candles that I know won't burn black! I burned a candle from Walmart one time on my mantle & we ended up having to re-paint our ceiling b/c the black smoke from the candle made the ceiling black! ARGH!
I also burn fall scented candles all year long. I just can't get into too many spring/summer scents...although my friend makes a Mango Coconut candle that is really, really good! Pumpkin Spice is another favorite of mine! Mmmmm, mmmmm! YES, I am going to be burning candles tonight when I get home AND I am going to have to make a trip to my candle ladies store very soon!!! Lol!!! I am obsessed with candles & you all would proably freak if you saw the number of candles I already have at home!!! It is rediculous! Lol! I keep telling myself I am not going back to my candle lady until I burn some of these that I have....well I will go anyway b/c "I need this certain scent"...good excuse, right?? Right now I want more Pumpkin Spice, so I'll go & end up having 10 more jars refilled! Lol!!

I actually sell PartyLite candles and I love bayberry and the holidays scent packs- expensive yes but in my opinion worth every penny. they last for a long time and don't soot as alot of other candles do. If you want some great candles just go to Partylite.com and find a consultant in your area.

I don't know if I read about this on here or where it was, but someone was saying that they take the left over wax from their candles (the stuff that doesn't burn) & they melt it down throughout the year & pour it into an old cardboard milk carton (placing a wick in the milk carton) & then on Christmas eve, they tear the cardboard off the wax & burn that candle made of left over wax. They were saying it's very pretty with all the different colors...it makes a striped candle. Anyway, I started doing this tonight. I have been saving my wax & tonight I melted down a few colors/scents & started pouring them (one by one...letting them dry between) into a small (1/2 pint) milk carton (I am going to try a small one 1st) I am really curious to see how this is going to turn out! Has anybody ever done this before?

Here is a picture of the candle I made using the left over wax from candles that didn't burn...
Next time I'll use a bigger milk carton & I will cut off the top of the carton so I don't get creases in the top part of the candle.
