I'm beginning to be a real drag here, so my apologies to everyone before I get to my point. My neice (10 years of age) died yesterday after a quad accident. I don't want to speak of her in the past tense but I know that is the correct way. She was such a lovely little girl, lively and so animated. I hate to sound like a cliche, but she was so smart for her age.

This has got to be one of the worse summers I have had in a long time. For those of you that have lost a child, my heart goes out to you. For those of you expecting a child, my heart goes out to you too! The miracle of a child is such an awesome thing to behold. As when a child sees their first snow fall, builds their first snowman. See's their first rainbow or holds a frog. Thw wonderment in their eyes and all their questions that we grow weary from. Take that moment to stop and look at the world in their eyes and enjoy it with them. Make memories, laugh with them, laugh at yourself......

I am so sorry for you. I lost my 8 yr old grandson 4 yrs ago,and your right. Enjoy EVERY moment you have with a child or any one for that matter as we never know how long we will be here.
I myself just had a close call with death 10 days in Icu and I sure appreciate life even more. judyyak

Oh Head Elf, please accept my condolences. That is tough. There was a terrible accident here in March that took the lives of 4 - 2007 high school graduates. These types of accidents are so horrific & tragic! I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling. You have my sympathy. I will keep you & your family in my thoughts & prayers.

Thank you for your lovely thoughts and words, I will share them with my family members who are still in Texas. The services will be Friday or Saturday. I had a melt down at work today, not only for Cheyenne but for the loss of my mother 4 years ago. It didn't hit me this hard all those years ago. The last 4 years have been a roller coaster ride for me and it wasn't even an E-ticket ride. But I love my Christmas family more than I can put into words. New, old and the in betweens, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I thought I was pretty tough and could handle the loss like most people, but I found that I have a heart (like the Grinch) and it has been shattered in many pieces and healed only to break some more. I guess the Marines didn't make me a mindless machine afterall! I am human, figure the odds. Thank you again for all the support and prayers and kind words.

I understand completely. my mom has a baby who didn't live long after he was born either. But I know he's alright. He's probably sitting on Jesus' lap talking bout all sorts of things. Hugs to you and i hope all will be alright.
