I just got my copy of It's a Wonderful Life on DVD today. It's THX digitally mastered for great sound quality and picture. Always wanted to hear Buffalo Girls in Dolby.

I had a friend back in Memphis who wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. We rented Star Wars one time and the THX mastered logo came up. He said, "Look, it's Thigh Mastered!" What all comes on the "Wonder Life" DVD? Any cool extras?

One of the things I love about movies is being entertained, the other is believing that the characters are real.
I guess that's part of the old-fashioned Auntie M coming out. I prefer to simply watch a good movie without watching all the frills associated with it.
I have watched a few "the making of" specials and then discovered when I watched the movie again that I didn't enjoy it as much.
Of course just because the added features are there on a DVD doesn't mean I have to use them all.
 Sounds like you are enjoying your new DVD though - that's cool.

I just ordered about 6 more dvd's. I find good deals on them on either ebay or amazon. Anyway some are just to replace my vhs and some are others I don't own or haven't seen yet. :wiggy:

There is a certain magic about movies, but it's a misleading magic, kinda like our memories are often misleading. You can watch someone on TV or in a movie wash dishes and it seems wonderful. You want to be there with them. Yet, when we wash dishes the magic is not there. We look back at our childhoods or at a time even before our own lives and think it was magical. The truth is, they were struggling to make ends meet and had all the trouble we all experience. I think we can experience those magical times by creating them ourselves, but Jimmy Stewart won't show up and the whole town is not likely to come visit with pockets full of money.

Sheepsnot,
Miracles do still happen. Sometimes they have to start with us. I also can testify that I have been on the receiving end of those Miracles. You just have to keep the eyes of your heart open. There is always hope. Faith is things hoped for, things unseen. When things don't always turn out the way we plan it just means there's a greater plan behind it. A bigger picture. It's a Wonderful Life has a great message. Patch Adams is another great movie. Don't focus on the problem, focus on the solution. NEVER give up hope! Sorry I didn't mean to be preachy, I just wanted to give you hope.

:-) I will take two cups of hope and a heaping spoonful of I believe in Santa.
:D I do agree about how the simplest daily tasks seem more pleasant and meaningful in a movie. Sometimes I get those "take me back memories" by watching a child tying his or her shoes and I think back and I don't remember learning how, I just remember being able to do it. Little things like that help me enjoy films too.
:) I don't own very many movies, not really enough to call it a collection. I have more Christmas one than any others though - most of them are children's specials.

Is there a list of Chrstimas movies anywhere on this site? I'm always interested in checking out ones I may not have seen before.

Nope, there is not a complete list. This is one of many projects we're working on. It's a big project though!
