My work email has a cool Santa on it this month in honor of Christmas in July. My desktop is Christmasy and I have a bulb hanging from my mic and a bell from my door. Other than that, it's just July. Merry CIJ to everyone! :)

You betcha! Now that the kids are back in school, for the most part, next comes football, falling leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then......the big day! I'm glad it's not just one day a year.

It's just starting to get over winter here in australia! Which means its just a few months off christmas, ill be dragging out the lights, blow up santa, and spending hot sunny days on the roof putting everything up! then writing all the christmas cards, santa letters (http://www.santamail.com.au), invitations, getting the christmas dinner sorted!!
I love Christmas!

I just reread your 8/17 post and now I see that you told us that already. I really need to pay attention. Have you ever experienced a snowy Christmas? (I realize that you would have to leave Sydney to do that!) I have experienced many snowy and many non-snowy Christmases, having lived up north for the first half of my life and down south since then. I spent the Christmases of 1981-84 and 1992 in Scotland, but even there the snow was not all that much of a factor.

Hey,
No, i dont hold a Christmas in July party. Might have to give it a go next year though. It's almost like Sydney is too busy for it! Canberra is about twice as cold though, its only an hour from the snow fields...
I heard about the SantaMail (http://www.santamail.com.au) website from a friend who's son started it up. I thought it was such a great idea, as id seen friends handwriting them for their children, and its exactly what my wife and i didnt have time for!
So now i plug it to anyone with kids! ;)
How big is Christmas in July in that states?

Something i really really need to do, ive been thinking of bringing the wife and kids over to the US or perhaps all the way to holland - where i have family...
It would certianly be something special to experience!

Let me expose publicly my ignorance concerning Australia, but do you have any mountain towns that get a good amount of snow?
