We don't have a fireplace in our new house. So, where are we going to hang our stockings?
Have any of you guys used those stocking hangers that look like a fireplace screen, but instead it's a stocking holder? It has hooks built into it for the stockings. Do you know where I can find one that's kinda inexpensive?
I can't wait to decorate for Christmas!! Usually on October 1st I start telling my kids "We put up our Christmas tree next month"!! Oh the excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :tree:

Aww man! I just saw a real cute stocking hanger at our local flea market this past Sunday. It looked like a coat hanger .You know the long kind with the hook's.Like they use in school. I didn't get it as it had like 4 or 5 hook's on it and there are only 3 of us.

I used to hang mine around an entrance or doorway. I have also thumb tacked them to the front of a shelf. This year thou I bought a snowman holiday stocking holder. I will email you the picture/link. So you can see it. and get a better idea of what I am talking about. I would add the pic. but it won't let me copy and save it.

We use the individual stocking holders and place them on a book shelf. We don't have a fire place either.

I saw something at Flower Factory that was kind of neat. It was kind of like a window box planter, but it would sit on a shelf or maybe attached to the wall, and it had 5 hooks on it I believe. They had 2 or 3 different ones with different sayings for the holidays too.

Before my wife and I moved into our current house, we hung our stockings from the entertainment center. Now, since we have 15 stockings to hang, we bought these inexpensive hangers from Wal-Mart that kind of clip to the mantel.

And those aren't counting the pets lol. We used to have the whole family over at my brother-in-laws house, but starting last year we are having everyone here now.

Hi, well I don't have a fireplace either, but we do have a woodstove. However, we don't hang our stockings by it since any candy would probably melt!! Can't be havin that!! So we just hang ours from a couple of shelves that have the wooden pegs on them.

We always wait until Christmas eve to put out the gifts because of the animals and some-what nosey daughters lol. So we had the girls lay their stockings on our christmas tree skirt. When they wake up their gifts are there along with their filled stockings.

I hang our stockings on a stand my dad made for me I put 5 little nails in it and we hang them and I fill 4 of the five for the dogs hubby and this year dad. He fills mine. I stuff them good no room left when I am done.

:tree:Stockings don't even need to be hung up. It's always a nice idea, to put each stocking by each person's pile of presents. Thats what my sister does, and she has a fireplace.

I was thinking about this too. Last year we hung them from a bookshelf, this year though we do have a fire BUT we use it, and its only small so I suspect everything we put hanging from it may melt. I'm stuck for ideas of where else we might put them :(

we just moved but at our previous home, there were to two nails on a narrowish wall between the living room and kitchen. The nails were spaced perfectly, one above the other. There are only three of us, so I hung both my children's stockings there and so it served not only as a place to hang their stockings, but also looked nice as a Christmassy wall decoration. I hung my stocking on another nail which was on the next well, right next to theirs. I might do that again in our new place, but not sure yet. The stockings were in a vertical line, but hung at a slant, which gave a very nice effect.
My sister hangs hers on one of those coat hangers, like somebody else mentioned, that has the wooden pegs. Hers has several pegs on it and is in her kitchen.

I used to hang mine around an entrance or doorway..

So do I. I don't have a fireplace either...too warm here.cheesy

Here is another idea, you might try if you have a staircase....

Sincerely, C.A.

I don't have stairs.. I'm thinking of just knocking a few nails into the walls and hanging them from that. Like someone said, it would make a nice wall decoration!
