I think HollyJells had a fabulous idea... to give each other little hints what we would like ...
please no direct links to catalogues or ebay... but only to give a direction...
like primstuff.... or snowmen...or santas... what do you think about it?

I was talking with my hubby last night about this idea, I think it's great! I saw so many ornaments this weekend that I loved but it would be nice to know what the person I am sending an ornament to would like.

I also think this is a great idea. So we kinda have a better idea of what a person likes or collects. I was thinking the same thing about this. I was thinking I may get someone I don't know well and send them something they may not like.

I'd love to be a part of the Ornament Exchange. Is it too late to sign up?

Yep we got each other
I have a color scheme this year gold, black and white/silver
but I do several trees
one is all sweets (the kind you can take off, unwrap and eat)
one is all snow related (snowflakes, snowmen, snowballs etc)
one is travel related (usually beachy, fishy, boaty, sea horsey)
one is purple
one is colorful (traditionally balls and multi colored)
and the main one is the above mentioned color scheme
plus all 4 kids decorate their own trees
what are you intrested in????

my girls are moving out this year and taking all the ornaments we have collected since they where born (one new one every Christmas) so that is almost 50 ornaments going out the door!
I want to do something totally different this year with the tree. Not sure what yet, but will be looking on line for ideas.
Anyone here have some good ones? (silly question I know, so many here are so creative!)
So since I am rambling on, the point is, I don't know yet what kind of ornament I want to hint about. i will let you know.

Well thanks for the kudos hun. As I said in another post I like bears, Rudolph, angels and forgot snowmen when i posted. We are starting our shopping early this year and hopefully will be done by SEPTEMBER 30. I do not have as many to buy for this year so I will be done sooner.

I like crystal, country stuff, gold, burgundy colors. I'm pretty much happy with anything though. I like to see what people pick for me and what they can come up with. I'm easy that way.

another idea is when we find out who we are exchanging with, then we can give thm ideas- BUT based on this idea we cant say what we want directly because that is a bit of pressure. I loved the ornament i got my first year here. it was a rudolph (misfit toys) and i refused to put it on my tree due to a certain feline who is no longer here that loved hitting stuff on the tree, AFTER she had stripped all the shiny stuff off. Needless to say I was rather angry wit her because she totally destroyed 5 hours of work. But it is all good now, she found a new home with some good friends who do not put up a tree because they are jewish. LOL

I love puppies! I love classic ball ornaments as well as cutesy cartoon character ones (Simpsons, Elf, Christmas Story). I also love glittery ones or glass ones in the light!

Ok, I'm going to use clear glass or acrylic ornaments and white and silver pics. I also have a little tree that I put small super hero figures on. But honestly, my main tree changes every year so red, green, white, gold or silver would be great.:hello:
