Please don't get frustrated at me for asking this question. I am not a radio guru by any means!
But, can you play a whole album on the radio for us?
Like, Time Life Treasury of Christmas? Or maybe Michael Bolton's Christmaas CD? Or are there traderight/copyright issues?

Oh, believe me, Faithmom6, the frustration comes from the pinhead rules, not you the listener!

To answer your question, no. We've somewhat had this discussion before - http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10386 Check it, especially thedementedelf's reply with the link to The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998.

In a nutshell, the big record companies win. Most others, including artists, loose. That's debatable, but I won't. My opinion matters only to me and is not necessaraly the opinion of the Merry Network nor the individual owner/members/admins/moderators, etc. thereof!

I think if someone makes a CD they should get the money off of it.

Those rules/regulations seem to be a bit absurd. That's just my unprofessional opinion of it!!

Thanks for the help on that!

To be fair, artists do receive royalities from CD sales. But for the big lables, artists are at the bottom of the food chain.

now well...they still earn money with it...but a lot of artists start to distribute their CDs themselves....I know of a Los Angeles based RnB Artist called TQ....he was big over here in 99 with his song called westside...and had several other hits...when he suddenly dissappeared.....this year he came back....now I know why he was gone...he was being held down by his new record company....until he was full of it and went....now he´s recording and producing himself....selling over the internet mostly....and does quite well
