View Full Version : What's up in the UK?

Over the past 90 days we have seen an EXPLOSION of traffic from the UK, resulting in many of our newest members here on the forums from that part of the world.

As usual, we haven't done any kind of advertising or recruiting. It has just spontaneously happened.

So what's up in the UK? How is it that people, after almost a decade, are finally discovering us?

Jeff

wonder if it has to do with the issues Christmas seems to have there.
we're always hearing about issues with lights and what not

Usually you can track this kind of thing by links we pick up from other sites but I'm not seeing any one site in particular that is UK based or has a UK viewership that could explain this. But Christmas is definitely on the minds of many in the UK these days.

did you read the Jeff guinn book 'how mrs claus saved christmas"
Maybe its like that: The more some attack Christmas, the more others embrace it

Ive noticed there seems to be a lot of Welsh people who have joined in the past two weeks. I was the only one here for almost a year (as far as I know)
It is odd I must say how UK people are finding this forum. The only thing that gets to me is if I havent been on here for a day or two the boards are full of posts which could take me absolute ages to go through, lol

I think the humour of the forum is quite 'british' so that might be something to do with it. it could also be that we're planning to take over the world and this forum is the first step...

I had ambition; Canada's just too darn polite for world domination! Scotland has plaid and can look scary.......

Most of us have seen Braveheart. We know what to expect.

A blue-faced Mel Gibson with a dodgy storyline - please!!!!!

We're professionals here - we're on a mission which may or may not include beer-swilling, hockey watching Canadians; depending on how we're doing by the time we reach the Grand Banks!!

We're pretty good at drinking beer ourselves!!!! And north of the border you get the whiskey as well! (and I live in pure cider country...)

We could do with some help in the hockey, but in Scotland they do caber tossing which involves throwing telephone poles around! http://youtube.com/watch?v=-DYtz7Mon3c

And Maureen, I do have a kilt, so I'm ready to go ;) (but I might start with a chop stick...)

Last Christmas when I sent out my Christmas cards is when I realized how well known the site is. It was amazing to me to see all the cards I got back from different countries. It really showed me the power this season has to bring people from around the world togather. I love this place! cheesy
