In an effort to try and get to know each other a bit better, would you tell us what your occupation is? Not what you've done but rather what you do now. If you're retired, tell us, we'll all be there soon one day.

I'll start by saying that my current job is a WalMart greeter and I am a columnist for the local newspaper with a weekly on gospel music.

Right now, I´m a mom....My daughter is 2 and half years old, and didn´t want to put her in daycare before she was 3 (that´s when Kindergarten usually started in Germany)....When she has her preschool place and goes there, I will find a job...no matter what.

By and large, mothers and housewives are the only workers who do not have regular time off. They are the great vacationless class. (http://thinkexist.com/quotation/by_and_large-mothers_and_housewives_are_the_only/228384.html)”

I am a student. I went to college for three years where I graduated from journalism. Unhappy with the ways of the journalism world, I decided to go to university and study towards a degree in English and minor in History. Once I graduate university (2010), I will go to Teachers college so I can become a high school English and History teacher.

I am a Government Lead (Common Enterprise Technology Integration Government Team Lead) under the Department of Homeand Securoty ......
I have 4 teams of 32 people under me (5 more coming soon). My four teams are Technology Exploitation and Prototype, Workstation Modernization, Communications and Collaboration, and Microsoft Special Projects. All are CBP – Enterprise wide teams.
Needless to say I keep busy – very busy (ie: roughly 100 – 150 emails a day all work related – my poor BlackBerries keep dying on me from overuse).

Besides being a wife and mother to the best dog on earth I work in manufacturing. I do assembly, repair, inspection, rework of printed circuit boards. I work for an outsourcing company so we have all kinds of customers that need boards for all kinds of things so, next time you go to the airport and get on one of those people movers, think of me. I just may have assembled the circuit boards that make that train go! I'm planning a career switch though and I'm going to school for radiology.

I'm a midday meals supervisor and breakfast club assistant at a local primary school where my son attends. My daughter used to go there, but left in July and now goes to my old secondary school.

It's also my old school, in name only. The old school that was 130 years old was pulled down in 2006, and we're in a more modern building. Funny thing is, my old teacher is still there and it's funny to have her as a work colleague now. She was also my daughters teacher and has signed both our leaving books. My sons teacher was my daughters teacher a few years ago.
