I Need a Little Christmas!

I have had a bear of a day. I got up early to do some lesson plans for my third graders. Then I set out for a 45-minute drive to go to a scrapbooking class. As I drove away, the Fed Ex guy showed up with my package of Pumpkin Spice Coffee that I had ordered and had hoped would have been here yesterday. Then I drive to Chico, and just as I hit the city limits, I am pulled over by a CHP patrolman. He says my registration has expired. I told him that was impossible, that I paid online in April. He tried to run it through on the computer in his car, and he could not get through; so I got a ticket and have to take off work to take care of it. And I could not find my current proof of insurance!! I had proof of insurance from 2000 up to 2007, but not 2008!!! You see, when I was going down to UC San Francisco visiting my son undergoing chemo, my glove box door broke and all my papers came spilling out. I guess the things I need are somewhere in this house in a paper bag!!! But the patrolman never said a word about the insurance. I finally got to my scrapbooking class and found out I had the wrong day!!! So another 45-minute trip back home. Hopefully, my day will get better. It can only get better, right? By the way, I did find my current registration, finally!

Yes. They happen. I do not yet understand the cosmic reason for them. However - I am familiar with them. When they happen, I run to my bed as quickly as I can with my television clicker and as many trashy paperback novels as I can find.

Thank you all for all your encouragement. I wish you could have seen me trying to get my driver's license out. I was shaking so badly that I didn't think it would ever come out!!! I am going to DMV on Monday to see what the damage is. Hopefully, not too bad, especially after what I have spent this month on getting a grip on Christmas presents.
