Food and family here, too. Also just knowing that the next day I'll be decorating for Christmas. I'm also a football fanatic (Go Skins!) but don't watch the game very often unless the Skins are playing that day.

The preseason has been a reality for quite awhile. The football season is actually pretty short for most teams, unlike basketball and hockey. If I remember correctly, football (soccer) season in Britain is a very long season. Skiparoonie, is that still true or has me memory once again failed me?

I spent some time in Dallas years ago and the football mentality there is something that has to be seen to be believed. 25,000 for a high school game is nuts. But the Cowboys were the worst.
The reason for the hole in the roof of the stadium where the Cowboys play? The locals say it is so that God can watch his team.
All I remember is that the world stopped on Sundays when the Cowboys played. And when they lost in the playoffs it was nearly a national day of mourning.

For me, watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (and maybe any of the others), helping mom cook, FOOD, being with family and my (now) hubby. :) And of course, it's pretty awesome that Christmas is coming up and you can start decorating the next day (or Thanksgiving night!)! :)

The day starts off with Macy's Parade while I'm busy in the kitchen.
If family's around, there is football, they are inseparable. GO SKINS!
Then it's pie and eggnog and watching my light display kick on for the very first night of the season.
Merry Christmas!

I might really need the practice since its been a year. Last year we were still renting and the stove/oven in that house was gas and I ended up burning the crust on every pie I baked. I am so glad our new house is all electric.

ya know, Merry Mary that joined, her husband only like gas too. I guess it depends on what you learned to cook on. I have never been able to regulate the gas correctly so its either under cooked or over cooked, either way it makes for some nasty eating!
