Hi dvdguy! Welcome to My Merry Christmas and our merry forums. We're glad you're here. I saw your other postings and hoped you'd stop by here and introduce yourself.
Are you merely a DVD collector or a seller of some kind?
We're always glad to have movie experts in our midst!

Great to have you joining in on the conversation. We could always use a new point of view or at least confirmation that we aren't crazy.

I smell what you're stepping in. My wife wonders if I am slipping backwards to my childhood or if I have a MMC secret flame, but I just really love the fellowship.

Plus, Jeff has 30 lbs of candy samples in the back seat of his car and it's only a matter of time before he starts sharing.

That would be me -- chief bottle washer here in these parts and in real-life I'm gainfully employed by See's Candies, thus making me artificially popular. Sheepsnot doesn't know that if he sends me a mailing address I can have some samples sent his way soon.

I wouldn't say it's a classic love story. Girl hangs with friends at Karoake bar. Boy walks in carrying a stuffed animal monkey. Girl likes what she sees. Girl is tired of making first move, so she "patiently" waits for monkey boy to make move. Apparently monkey boy is shy. Girl tells her friend, who is also friend of monkey boy, she really likes him. Friend does nothing. Girl tries to get monkey boy alone but some girl keeps following them around. Girl says she gives up on men in front of monkey boy. Girl makes bold first move - in front of what turns out to be monkey boys ex-girlfriend. Dating begins. Monkey boy asks girl to marry him on first date - though he doesn't remember this. Girl's family not too thrilled about her date. Girl fights for her right to be with monkey boy. Real marriage proposal on kissing bridge at renaisance fair. Engagement kept secret from girls family for a month and from monkey boys family for what seems like forever. Girl threatens to give ring back if monkey boy doesn't announce to family. Engagement finally out in the open. Date set. Plans made. Wedding day...beautiful but cold. DJ at wedding is same guy who ran karaoke where couple met. Best man sings wedding song to couple. Couple leaves on honeymoon. Girls family now LOVES monkey boy....girl made the right choice!!!!

That's a great story. I laughed quite a bit, wondering why you were carrying a stuffed monkey. Any explanation?

Awesome story. I think we need to change someone's logon here from "dvdguy" to "monkeyboy". It seems to fit and it gives me an entire new mental image of your prince!
Here's our love story, in similar condensed reading style:
Dashingly handsome young man dates for 8 solid years, wanting only to marry and have children. Much heartache ensues. He reaches age 27, swears off women forever and walks in a rut so deep he cannot see over the top of it. Enter "the princess". She's a single mom, mother of a five year old. While visiting the babysitter (my sister-in-law) she sees a video of the dashingly-handsome-but-in-a-rut young man and hears angels sing. She goes home and makes two phone calls -- one, to the man she was dating. She broke it off. The other, to her mother to declare she has found her husband. The dashingly-handsome-young-man is setup about a week later. Three weeks later they are engaged, a few months later they are married, a nanosecond later they are pregnant, a decade later they have seven children...and still madly in love.
Who's next?
