To our European friends/ Christmas Card exchange

I wanted to ask our European friends how long mail normally takes to get to the from the States. I want to make sure to get my cards out in plenty of time. Can you share the average lead time???

let´s say 3 days to one week....with air mail rather three to five days I think

yeah...that´s true....once I send a package to a friend....and it was there within 2 days...that was insane....i mean....it takes at least 6 hours to get to the States from Germany....if the plane touches down in New York....if it´s L.A. it can be up to 14 hours...then it has to be sorted out and delivered and all that stuff....it´s all so quick

Count on five days minimum, especially during the Holiday season, by airmail. If you send it by "boat" it can take a month.

I mailed cards to Scotland last year and it took a week (7 business days, not a regular week).

There's another thread here that says people in the U.S. should mail their cards/packages by Dec 4th to ensure arrival to U.K address by Christmas.

I got my first card from the netherlands 2 days ago...and it only took 3 days to reach me....so I was really impressed...so was the sender.

well there we go then, I was late last year too!!!! LOL I am always first to get shopping done and deco up but always the last to get my stuff in the mail, shame on me. With school, home life, and other things- I run around like a beheaded chicken at times.

Panic ye not - I'm 99% certain that your card arrived before Christmas last year so that's all that counts!!

Actually, no - the fact that you sent a card at all, is all that counts!!!!

wells thankies maureen. LOL I know SOME didnt get to where they were going til after christmas, but a few people I know leave their cards out year around so there we go.
