Pets and Christmas is not a subject I've seen touched upon in the forums. Okay fess up. How many of you take your pets to see Santa at the mall and have their picture taken with him? Or how many of you put antlers on your doggies? I personally never have done that and I no longer have pets but when I did, they had their own stockings and ornaments on the tree. I guess I say this because I've been contemplating getting a dog again. Maybe a Christmas doggie. A co-workers Chihuahau is having puppies any day now. I like small dogs and I especially like including them in the Christmas festivities. :D

You live in Port Charlotte, FL????? Me and my hubby are moving there in two weeks. Howdy neighbor!

I have pictures of my cats with Santa hats and antlers on. I used them as Christmas cards one year.

I'm guilty!! The first year we had our oldest, we took him to get his picture taken with Santa. The last two years we've had two more so we haven't been back. Taking all three would be a lot of work! Our girl is Miss Mouth and would bark at everything and everyone. Our youngest, Linus (offspring of our Rebel, our oldest, and Dixie, Miss Mouth) is too rambunctious (sp?). He is a true Jack Russell Terrier. We were able to spend more time training Rebel, so he is very obedient (when he wants to be). The other two were harder since they weren't the only ones in the house.

They each have their own Christmas stockings, Christmas outfits, and antlers. Dixie doesn't mind dressing up too much, but Rebel thinks he did something wrong  He is so funny. I have to hide their Christmas presents until Christmas morning because Rebel always knows when there are presents around and he actually goes around looking for them (he's very intelligent). I lay their stockings on the floor Christmas morning and they go crazy trying to get the treasures out. It's so funny. They are so spoiled. My parents, in-law's, and siblings also give them presents.

Yep I sure do live in Port Charlotte! I'm going on my fourth Christmas here. I also work for the county. I know another girl that works for the county. She moved here from New Jersey as well. Maybe we can get together sometime. It would be nice to meet other Christmas fanatics. There are quite a few in the forums that live here in Florida and we don't live far from each other either.

digbugsgirl you go all out with your pets. That's awesome though. They are just like kids. Ya gotta love em. :wiggy:

my cats dont get dressed up, but they do get more than their fair share of goodies from santa; under the tree and in their stockings!

Wow all these Christmas fanatics moving to Port Charlotte. We definitely need to get together. Please keep in touch through the forums. Port Charlotte is in the southwest portion of the state. It sits between Sarasota and Ft. Myers. :-)

Elfworks, Kudos on the Christmas kitties. Unfortunately I am alergic to cats so I tend to be partial to dogs. :D

i love dogs as well, but dont like little yappy ones and dont believe dogs should be confined to a small apt w/o a yard to romp in.

my kitties are named for holidays. phantom is my halloween kitty and pumpkin is my thanksgiving one and jellybean is the easter cat. still searching for th perfect xmas one. have a name all picked out when i find him or her.

but future xmas cat's name will be:

lord (or lady) eggnog snowflake jinglebells.

bean is: master fuzzywuzzy jigglewiggle jellybean

phanny is: princess scarey fairy phantom

and punkin is: sir desmond darling pumpkinhead

i know. i am not a well woman

All I have is a one bedroom apartment. But I don't have a dog either. If I did it would be a very small dog. Can't afford a house with a yard by myself. When I did have pets they were like my kids and they went everywhere with me. They loved going for car rides.

YAY! A new friend in my new town!!!! I'm sure you will notice our house during Christmas decorating season. My husband will make sure it looks like Snoopy's Doghouse at Christmas.

We have dressed the cats up in Christmas hats. Shortly thereafter we found little presents in our shoes. The hamster will not sit still long enough to get a hat on him.

And Elfworks...you can now say you have pals in Port Charlotte, FL.

:P

i have always thought i wanted a ferret(t ?) but i worry about the kitties getting hungry. i have friends who let their 3 dogs 4 cats and 7 ferrets wander the house together, all of them, including the ferrets are potty trained. it really is the most remarkable thing youve ever seen!

We had a ferret named Abernathy in our college dorm. He lived in a closet and when he was let out, would wander up and down our hall. We could never wear stockings because Abernathy had a habit of running down the hallway, jumping and wrapping himself around our calves. Stockings torn to shreds. We had a party one night with alcoholic punch in a big garbage pail. Abernathy climbed up and into the pail. Red punch plus whitish ferret equals pink ferret.

My sister had ferrets. They can take care of themselves. They can even be nasty sometimes. Okay all of you who are claiming to move to Port Charlotte. Be sure to keep in touch. I want to see your snoopy house at Christmas time.

I don't dress up my cats nor take them to have pics taken with Santa. Mine are strictly indoor cats and don't even like to go outon the steps.
