Well, they're back! Like clockwork every year we get those sad individuals who think just because our topic is "Christmas" that we want to see their wares, hear their message or enjoy their spam.
In the past 24 hours our servers were attacked and we had more than 3000 requests per hour during a hijack attempt of our email addresses. And this morning I've deleted posts from folks pushing vacations and mortgages.
We're going to continue to fight this. So far, the new design has helped and we haven't had as many problems as we have in the past. I am banning the IPs of the offenders (though they are likely using proxies) and we're requiring registration now on more of our boards to post. (Not that that will completely stop them).
Sorry for the inconvenience. If you see an unworthy post or some other offending commentary on the boards please notify me immediately and I'll do my best to get rid of them. :sad:
