Here's a tentative list for January 09 with ideas to get you started. I need to add ideas for Hippity Hoppity Day (which is today...oh my) and Celebrate Me...hope to get that accomplished here in a minute.

Each month...let's post our ideas for the month...things we hope to accomplish...the Monthly Magic list is just a framework for thinking about the month...with some ideas....you can use the ideas or insert your own to make the plan more personal for your home and life...

I'll be back in a bit after I finish updating the January Monthly Magic and post my list for January....!!!! Believe it or not some of it is already accomplished!!!

Tracking Magic

[X]Get a calendar. Not just any calendar but one that you love and will use. It can be a planner, a wall calendar or one that you print from the computer.

[X] Now go through each month and write down birthdays, anniversaires, and any scheduled events.

[ ] Go back through the calendar and put a small seasonal sticker on every Rudolph Day, Great Pumkin Day and Turkey Day.

[X] Now look JUST at January. Highlight any important dates and create a mini "to do" list for them. Try to keep them all on one sheet. So if you have four events, divide your sheet into four sections and write a "to do" list for each one.

Celebration Magic

[ ] Buy all cards for January AND February.

[ ] Sign, address, and stamp them.

[X] Make a party planner list for any special events you are hosting.

[X] Buy yourself a small Celebrate Me gift for the New Year.

Creative Magic

Crafty:

[X] Pick a craft (Valentine's or a Christmas gift)

[ ] Make a supply list & buy supplies.

[ ] Set aside time each week this month to work on it

Self Discovery:

[X] Buy an art journal to create a Celebrate Me journal for the year

Family:

[ ] Pick a family craft for the month & buy supplies

[ ] Buy supplies for any party favors (if needed)

Future Magic

February Look Ahead:

[X] Plan any events that are in first seven days of February.

January Rudolph Day

[X] Make an idea list for Rudolph Days

[ ] Update Christmas card list & addresses

[X] Clean out notebook. Print new forms

[ ] Update gift closet inventory

January Great Pumpkin Day

[ ] Search for party ideas on line

January Turkey Day

[ ] Organize recipes from past year

[ ] Print the Thanksgiving planner (if needed)

January Hippity Hoppity Day

[X] Get out your Easter Notebook or look at the Easter section in your notebook. Review notes from last year and set up new forms as needed.

[X] Mark Easter on your Calendar and mark the weeks for this years Easter Countdown

Celebrate Me Day:

[X] January is the month of promises. Make some for yourself as well. Pick a WORD for the year that will impsire you and then LIVE the word all year. Also conside picking a motto like: "Spread Your Wings" or "The Journey Begins With One Step" Pick one that has persoanl meaning for you and the life you hope to live this year!

Year Round Prep

[ ] Make a craft list for the year.

Well.....I am feeling a little lonely in this thread with my January list....come on Christmas Planners....post your list and let us know what you are doing during January. You can use the Monthly Magic list or just make up one of your own...but get up a list and mark off what you have accomplished thus far....even if its just one or two things....little steps are better than no steps....

All I've accomplished is to input special occasions into my on-line calendar and to have a Christmas cross stitch project a little over half-way done. I still need to make my Christmas gift-giving list for the coming year and put addresses in my at home book. I am ready for Rudolph Day - book read, movie watched and baking a Christmas dessert on the day. :rudolph:
