Here is a question: Do all cell phones receive "text messages"? What if you haven't paid for "text messages" in your contract?

as far as I know all cell phones are capable of sending & receiving text.
If you are not paying for a plan for text then you are ptobably being charged a pay per use rate

interesting question actually. I don't use text messaging personally but someone said they sent me a text message but my phone showed no record of it. Perhaps my provider automatically blocks messages if I'm not set up for it.

Both are correct. If no plan then yes you are charged (a high rate) per txt. Also some phones and accounts are automatically turned off by default so the use is not charged if they do not have a plan. You can change your settings on some phones and on most web based accounts online.
