I hated those Hypercolor shirts because they would change with your body heat or if they got wet so, every guy who wore those always had a color change under their armpits! Gross!!

LOL.
Yeah i had a female friend that would get guys she did not like in trouble.
She would cross her arms... and um....place her hands on her shirt.. shall we say...
Then would tell the teacher a guy was trying to mess with her.
Was funny ...but mean....

what about the Car symbol craze, we all those Kids who wanted to be cool would take the badges off Cars.

In England during the mid 80's when the bank Frankie goes to Hollywood was the big band there was the Famous Frankie says Relax T-shirts

here a few others from the 80's

I had some BIG hair and I loved it! I still think that I have big hair especially since most people wear their hair straight or just loose curls. I just don't look good like that so I was thrilled when I heard that big hair was making a come back but, I don't think that it will ever come back like it was in the 80's! I used so much hairspray that my dresser would be caked with it. I remember trying to dust my dresser and it sounded like I was rubbing it with sandpaper because of that hairspray dried up on it. I'll have to post a picture of me with some of my bigger hair moments on here. You won't believe how much I had!!!!

- You rocked a side ponytail on picture day
- Your favorite shirt was a turtle neck with multicolored stars on it
- You had a crush on LL Cool J
- You knew every single Prince and Michael Jackson song
- You still do "the snake" at parties
- You used so much hairspray to hold your bangs up, you're nervous that there's another hole in the ozone layer directly above your house

I had a side ponytail that was so big that I'm surprised my head isn't lopsided to this day!!! Ok here's something for you. 80's= hair crimping! I had really long hair and my mom used to crimp it! I tried out for the Pittsburgh Maulers Jr. Flashdancers (with a name like Flashdancers you know it was an 80's team),and for the tryouts my mom crimped my hair. My tryout song that I had to dance to with the entire group of girls was Cindy Lauper, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun! The try outs were held at South Hills Village Mall in front of Gimbels (for all of you western Pa. members on here.) Anyway, I made it to the finals and my mom crimped my hair again but, this time she added rollers to the ends of my hair and it was actually a nice look! I have pictures of this too! More stay tuned moments...

P.S. If you are scratching you heads wondering what the Pittsburgh Maulers were, they were a Football team that played in the USFL league and they were only around for a year due to the fact that they used to play in the spring when the NFL wasn't playing but, they voted to play all football in the fall and that did them in.

Ok, I didn't know where to post this. I was going to put it in the video game one but, I thought that since it wasn't one of the choices in that thread that I'd put it here. Did anyone have a 2-XL game? It came with 8-track tapes that asked you trivia questions and you had to push the buttons on 2-XL for which ever the choice was. I used to use it to play my mom's 8-tracks! We still have this I think at my mom's house. This may have been a 70's toy, I don't know because it was my brother's toy and I just kind of stole it from him.

I was cracking up while I read this! Then I realized just how disturbing it was. I did way too many of those things. I think I'm still trying to get the Aqua Net build up out of my hair! I bought our 5 year old and 2 year old Smurfs for Christmas last year. My son greeted that with "what is this?" AACK! Kids these days!

Too funny!! Boy did you bring back a lot of childhood memories! I was so in LOVE with Doogie Howser! I kind of miss the old McDonald's. It seemed to have been (at least to me) geared more towards children. Now it's all about adults and the size of the food. Remember those plastic-like McDonald animal-like things in the playground that you could sit on? I think you could rock them back and forth if I'm not mistaken.

Remember "A tisket, a tasket, a flower making basket. Works like magic, smells fantastic, flower making basket." ???

There is a convenience store not for from me that has these. Although the ones they have are all premixed. Back in the 80's you could pump/squirt the flavor into your little slushy/ice balls mixture. They still taste the same as they did back then. I always liked the blue raspberry. Yum!

For all you 80's fanatics, here's an April Fool's drawing someone did (not me) posted at a comic site I frequent... it's "League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen -- 1988" and follows the conceit of the original League but, instead of using classic literary characters from the turn of the century (Jeckyl/Hyde, Captain Nemo, etc.) it features Eighties pop icons (with some borderline 70's ones, too)...

http://www.comicsbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/loeg88.jpg

from left to right:

Lisa from Weird Science, MacGuyver, Doc Brown from Back To The Future, Mr. T and Jack Burton (Kurt Russell) from Big Trouble In Little China... with portraits of Farrah, Serpico, Rocky Balboa, The Bandit (Burt Reynolds), Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man) and (I believe) Blackula in the background...

Enjoy!

So... did any of you 80's children catch SyFy Channel's 4th of July "Greatest American Hero" marathon..? I loved that show back in the day... on rewatching it, I cringed at the "state of the art" 80's special effects but was impressed by how well the banter between the lead characters held up after two decades... some good writing there..!

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air..!

What I find funny is that back in the late 80's when I was in grade school and junior high,we made fun of my aunt who had pictures in the 70's with bell-bottoms and ironed straight hair. This while we were wearing tight rolled jeanes and mullet hair styles ourselves saying to ourselves (how could they wear that stuff?)

I was born in 1980 (VERY begnning--literally!) and I TOTALLY remember a lot of this stuff!!

Am I the only 80s child who used to watch that show Kids Incorporated. It had a very PRE Saved By The Bell Mario Lopez as a dancer and a VERY young (VERY pre *cough*methandbotox*cough*) Fergie (aka: Stacy Ferguson). I was able to transfer YouTube clips onto my iPod Touch (shhhhh!!!) and I have over 100 songs on it! WOO HOO!

Oh, and I totally wished that DJ Tanner was my big sister or that I was best friends with Punky Brewster. cheesy
