I'm not in it. It's a photo from my fraternity's on-line photo albums, going back to the 1910s.

If you ever do a 1920s retro thread, here's a choice shot, from when raccoon coats were the rage for college men:

My greatgrandmother with my big brother and I on Easter 84...she died in 1989 at 93-years...I loved her very much and still think about her very often...she survived two world wars and is born in the year 1895...sounds crazy doesn´t it?

Great Picture!! You all look like Hollywood stars!! I don't know where you suggested Iriving's Sketchbook to me, but I pulled mine out and read the Christmas chapters and enjoyed it so much!! Thanks for the wonderful recommendation. I also read a quote from it in an old book called The Tattered Coat by a writer of Field and Stream back in the 1940's. It was like a Tom Sawyer collection of fishing and hunting tales of which I do neither, but the descriptions of country anywhere before all the development and subdivisions began and the wildlife roamed free and plentifully is always good for the heart. I am glad my husband never asked me to defeather hundreds of ducks, quail, pheasants, etc. for our holiday meals! The general yuletide high sprits always warms the cockles of the heart to share. And happy group pictures like this! Thanks!

OK I know this is for 80's photos but, I couldn't find a thread for 90's photos and I haven't scanned my 80's photos yet! Here's some pictures from the early 90's.

Thanks Track! We rocked the big hair until about 94-95 here. It started to tame down when I was in my junior/senior year of high school but, I just can't live like that! I look horrible with flat, straight hair. I have to be big and curly. If you've got the wild, unruly hair you might as well just embrace it and smile!! That's what I do. Can't tame a wild beast.

woulda still have worked....maybe after the movie HONEY....they would have called themselves The Honeys....but that sounds like a 1950s rocknroll band....Flashdance will always fit a dancegroup....Every great dancer wants to be in the flashlight or limelight....so every dancer is a flashdancer inside

Yeah, I guess so. Especially since it was here in Pittsburgh that that movie was made, I guess it could have held up.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I was raising teens in the 80's so I can identify with the styles etc. LOL, my neice use to wear her hair high just on top, the rest long and straight which we all refer to as her "Kramer hair".

Kramer as in Seinfeld

Yes, Kramer in Seinfield. He's the only reason we started to watch the program.
Or should I say "Cosmo", which is the character's first name. That was unexpected.

Was he christened on that day? because he wears that white Taufkleid (the term we use in Germany for those babtism threads)

yes, except here it was a baby dedication. He is wearing the same outfit his sisters wore when they where dedicated. I told them that the outfit goes to the first one who presents me with a grandchild. cheesy

thatīs a good solution for it...so everyone has a chance for it...and not only the oldest.

what is a baby dedication?

Christmasstar
03-23-2010, 06:17 PM
what is a baby dedication?

it is when the parents present the child to the Lord in front of the church and promise to raise him / her according to the Bible teachings. The church at that time also promises to be there to support the family and encourage them as the child grows.
