i'm new here and I thank you for this forum! My pigs get antlers! I rescue the non adoptable breeds like pitbulls, rottweilers, dobermans, etc. My little boy, Seamus, was a fighting dog. He's a chow akita mix and was starved and severly abused. He had Lyme's disease and was only 40 lbs when I got him. His teeth are also broken out and you can see the roots on his little teeth with his fangs chipped. He also had an embedded collar so he lost about 6 inches of skin from that. He still doesn't sit since in his short 6 years his chain was too tight for him to learn how too. He thinks sit is a command to turn in circles. It took a long time but he loves his stuffed babies and when I first saw him and walked him, I knew I was in love with this little "Mess." That's his nickname :) He first saw a Christmas tree and had no clue. He was confused why a tree was in a house and peed on it! LOL Anyway--here's the "big mean" fighting dog that carries around stuffed toys now and lets my 18 month old nephew boss him. He hasn't a mean bone in his body--just loves to be loved and I adore him!

This is my other pig. :) He's a mix rottie. He was also abused and he was abandoned by his previous owners. He was left without food and water for 2 weeks and there was a felony warrant out for the people that owned him when I adopted him. He is now 170 lbs and just a big baby. He used to have seperation anxiety and would go through windows to get to me. He now is the perfect dog and my best friend. He lets children in the neighborhood ride him like a small pony! LOL This is Dublin, my baby.

Bless you! The smaller of your two dogs (the two I have seen so far) doesn't seem to appreciate the antlers as much as the big bruiser. I guess he's more secure in his manhood.

It is but it's so rewarding! I see Seamus, a bred fighting dog, with children and it makes me so proud to see the work I put into him and the lengths he has come to! Knowing that not all people will hurt him.

Last year I got my dog a rudolph reindeer hooded sweater, good to keep him warm outside too, not just for dress up. Has the antlers, eyes and a red nose on the hood

Last year, my mom bought my dog a plaid flannel Christmas sweater, but I don't think he liked it much...he just sat there, pleading with his little eyes: "Please...take this stupid thing off of me!!!"

You can see it in their eyes, can't you? They want to obey, but deep down they hope no other dog sees them this way!

you sure can! it's the same look my dog gives me when he's getting a bath and he looks half his size (all of his hair makes him look twice as big as he really is)

That's a wonderful pic, SC. I gotta get a dog. Wife is allergic, so I gotta get another house, too.

there are some dog breeds that are really good for people with allergies, depending upon how severe the persons allergies are. I've never had a problem with dogs, but I developed an allergy toward cats after mine died a few years back.

So cute!
And ReineV, a Chinese Crested is a good dog to have if people have allergies! I think a maltese is too. Both are adorable.

My guys wear Christmas bandanas most of the time, except for Christmas Eve when each gets a sleigh bell collar. When they wear the bells, I take them for a long walk through the neighborhood so kids think that Santa's coming.
The white Samoyed-mix is Calvin and the black Lab is Hudson.

We have a pug/boston terrier mix (she's a rescue too!) that will wear a bandana but isn't too crazy about her sweater. I do have some of those Great PretendEars but haven't tried them out on her yet. Something is telling me they WONT be a big hit.

Those photos are so cute!
My cat used to wear a magnetic tag on her collar (to operate the cat door), and the metal christmas tree decorations used to stick to it when she played with them on the tree!!! It was very funny watching her try and detach them from the magnet.

I've considered getting one of those type pet doors, never thought about the magnetic attraction to other things in the house though. :-?
