I'm a huge fan of the pastel illustration art style of the 50's, especially the catalog ads... and you can tell the ads are from that era... Santa sold cigarettes, women are downright gleeful to get household appliances for Christmas and only white kids play with toys... cheesy

Wow, a little before my time, but we did have a spring horse when I was a kid.
Can't believe that Santa advertised for cigarettes.

my house was built in 1950.. I think it may be coool to collect some ads in frames and hang them up around Christmas.. off to search ebay ;)

I enjoy looking at old ads, they are a window to what life was like back then. We chuckle at things like the vacuum ad, but my mom says she loved it when dad gave her one for Christmas.
