Does anyone have a good recipe for rum balls? I attempted to make them last year and they were good....but i know they could be much better. They weren't sticky enough to hold together. Any no fail recipes? :-(

A very dear friend of mine gave me this recipe that she uses and I have used and they are outstanding!
Rum Balls
1 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/4 Cup Water
3 TBS Light Corn Syrup
1tsp Rum Extract
1 tsp Vanilla
2 Cups Vanilla Wafer Cookies, Crushed as Fine as Flour
1 Cup Walnuts, Ground
In a saucepan melt chocolate over low heat; take off heat; stir in sugar, water, corn syrup, rum and vanilla extract. Fold in crushed wafers and walnuts. This mixture will be VERY sticky! Do NOT wash hands during process or you will not be able to form into balls. Shape into 1-inch balls and then roll balls into granulated sugar. Place balls into refrigerator until firm, at least one hour. Store in airtight container. Do NOT eat warm!

I feel like such an amateur. I pour Hersheys chocolate down my gup and chase it with peanuts cause I'm too lazy to go buy M&Ms. That's my only recipe.

Of course, though I'd sub a honey roasted if it was found under the cushion.

Did you try the vanilla, erv? That doesn't sound so good to me. The cinnamon sounds really good, though.

tried em both, didn't really like either of them. Hard to beat honey roasted.
