Im looking for cookies and bar recipes that are christmas classics. I know everyone has their own idea of whats classic and tradition...but there are some that everyone has thought of......like almond cresent cookies, snowball cookies....anyone have good recipes for those? Keep the ideas and recipes coming!! :D

Almond Crescents
1 cup butter
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon brandy
2 teaspoons water
1 1/2 cups almonds
2 cups all-purpose flour
Cream butter or margarine with powdered sugar until light.
Mix in brandy and water.
Chop almonds and set 1/2 cup aside. Add the rest of the almonds to mixture. Stir in flour and mix well.
Chill dough until stiff enough to mold.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
Shape dough into crescent shapes (Use about 1 tsp per cookie.)
Dip into additional chopped almonds
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 12 - 15 minutes.
Cool on wire racks about 5 minutes. Option: Roll gently in additional powdered sugar after cooling.
SNOWBALL COOKIES
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. soft butter
2 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1-2 tsp. water
Confectioners' sugar
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugar and butter. Stir in Bisquick, nuts and vanilla. Add enough water to moisten dough. Shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes (set, not brown). Remove immediately. Cool 5 minutes on rack. Shake in bowl with confectioners' sugar. Makes 3 dozen
