Question: Does Santa bring presents wrapped or unwrapped?

When I was a child ( 0-18 ) Santa always left presents unwrapped. I grew up with two brothers and Santa would leave his presents with tags attached to unwrapped presents. So how did Santa leave presents for you?

gotta go with wrapped unless they are in the stocking.
Though I do like that tv show unwrapped

most wrapped however larger things like a bike, or fishin rod, or something would be near the tree unwrapped and with a big bow on it.

My father used to watch the old biblical movies, like The Ten Commandments and Sampson and Delilah and tell us they weren't true. I had to learn about Santa on the school bus.

Santa always leaves his gifts wrapped in blue paper with snow flakes on it for our kids.

At my parents house santa always leaves his packages in red and green paper with snowmen on it.

:merry: Our gifts from friend, relatives and family were wrapped under the tree. On Christmas morning there were presents from Santa un-wrapped and with fancy printed labels so each of us would know what Santa chose for them. Our stocking gifts were un-wrapped.
As older teenagers and adults the gifts are wrapped with only the stocking stuffers un-wrapped. Sometimes the adult children are still awake when Santa is due to stop by so wrapping them up was bound to happen - although they are still marked From: Santa.

:) The grandchildren's gifts from Santa are unwrapped as well.

:wiggy: We never had gifts that hung in our tree, but I know a few people who received small gifts that way.

When we were much younger, and when my girls were younger, Santa left them unwrapped. Now that the girls are a little older, andwhen we got older, Santa wraps them. It takes longer and adds to the excitement for us.

Always wrapped. Gifts from Santa were always mixed in with gifts from Mom and Dad, so we had to take the time to read the tags to be sure thanks weer given to the deserving party. :) Santa even wrapped our stocking stuffers a lot of the time. Naturally, very large gifts, such as bikes, desks, etc., were not wrapped, but 'bowed' with a huge red bow and placed near the tree. While I don't enjoy wrapping gifts, because I'm not a great wrapper, I do love the look of excitement on a face, when someone unwraps something totally unexpected, but something they really wanted. :wiggy:

Isn't it amazing how much paper you actually end up stuffing into a large garbage bag? Between the empty boxes and bags of wrapping, I'm always amazed at just how much we end up tossing.

The first trash collection day after Christmas proves that point, piles and piles of paper and cartons by the curb.

ChristmasFanatic

In our very rural area, trash pick up is just once a week, so depending on what day they come around, you can see tons of piles sitting outside various homes, just begging to be picked up. The 4-unit apartment I live in has a dumpster, so that helps, but then, we also have four sets of Christmas wrappings to deal with. :-D

It's funny, a lot of my friends and cousins were always doing a bit of 'snooping' around the holidays, but I NEVER want to know what I'm getting, if at all possible. Last year, I received two sets of DVD collections in special packaging and unfortunately, when they arrived, the person gifting me with them, thought the discs sounded loose, so I was asked to open them. It was only about 2 weeks before Christmas, but gee, I didn't want to know two of my major gifts! :( Guess I need to grow up just a wee bit. ;)

I remember a dear friend telling me that she had to be a little careful at Christmas, as when she opened something and would be all excited by what the box showed, she'd become embarrassed when she opned the box and it wasn't what the box showed...the box was simply used to house the gift! I've always remembered that and I don't become overly excited, until I see the contents, which are usually even better than I thought, but still, to thank someone for what you see on the box and then find out it's not the gift you thought, would be a little embarrassing for the person giving and for me! :???:

Oh you have to have the wrapping paper. I would hate to see everything unwrapped all at once. I like to take my time and savor every gift, especially as I get older.
Now I usually will take stuff out of the boxes and tags (If it's not electronics and if i know for sure I'll keep it).

Wrapped, definitely wrapped. Of course, every gift under the tree came 'from Santa'. I think I was an adult before I realized that some parents actually took credit for some of the gifts under the tree. Shoot, I'm 30--something years old and the gifts at my mom's house still say "from Santa" on them.

My DH, however, was raised in an unwrapped family...we've worked hard to bridge the divide between the cultures but it's been rough at times. :whisper:

Yeah, that was my major in university and grad school.
But when it comes to things like this (i.e. the amount of garbage we put out) i think that everyone is entitled to be aware of their actions.

Especially with wrapping paper, I mean sometimes it can look so beautiful, but basically we are paying for something that we put right it the garbage.

I like the idea of newspaper, but i find the ink can smear all over your finger tips.

My husband's family wrapped everything, so he insists we do the same. Unfortunately, we don't getany "doing" done until Christmas Eve. Yes, we stay up all night wrapping presents. Most of the presents were wrapped under the tree but there were always presents unwrapped sitting in front of the tree, probably because I woke up so early. I am an only child so there never needed to be tags on the presents directing who the unwrapped ones belonged to. I was allowed to open my stocking and play with the unwrapped gifts before my parents got up but none other.
