I am hanging my deco up tomorrow BUT unfortunately I do not think Old Baldy is gunna make it out this year. Looks like we have to go buy a new tree and salvage what we can from our old guy. He is falling apart and wires just arent doing the trick to keep his branches up anymore. I am saddened by this but hey, the old thing has given us alot of happy smiles over that past several years and if we can use some of him in other areas, that is what i am going to do.

I am thinking about starting to get some stuff down over the next week. I don't know if I can wait another 28 days until black friday to put everything out.

LOL I actually hung the outside lights (well most of them) last night. We do not get trick-or-treaters on our street so we didn't have to worry about them showing up.

We're getting to that point w/ our current tree as well. I'll be sad to see our little Charlie Brown tree go. It's the first tree we had together but it was a small, inexpensive one and, after nearly 10 years of service, it's starting to fall apart. :(
It's funny how attached we can get to our Christmas trees/decorations.

I am sad. I had to put off putting up the rest of my deco until NEXT week. This really puts my socks in a bunch because next weekend is when I was supposed to start my baking, but it looks like that is going to be put on hold as well. ARGHHHHHHHH It is ok though, I will get it all done- just a bit later than I planned. OH and i am gunna be usig OLE' BALDY again this year. time to go buy some floral wire so i can at least keep him from flopping down.

Maybe this can be Old Baldy's swan song and you can send him out with much fanfare this year. You could really dress it up and make it extra special.

Actually we are going to disassemble ole baldy and use his branches for swags. Keeping the top and gunna use that as a table top tree (the top is is the best shape). The hinges for his second and thrid part branches are just shot, would not hold anything up other than tinsel at this point. But the poor thing is sitting in the corner right now looking dejected. I put him up to see if I could possibly do something other than tear him apart. But the swag idea and table topper are the best bet by far. I am currently straightening and cleaning up around here because our "houseguests" finally moved out. Now we have our house back YAY!!!!! I will post pics once EVERYTHING is finished. and I will also post the pics of ole baldy in his new forms. hey even found some pretty red ribbon to make bows with. also think I have a bunch of berry garland pieces around here somewhere. But GASP I can not find my white and gold reindeer. So figuring there is a box or two I havent found yet. All my stuff got mixed up during some repairs this past year so I am going on hunts to find everything I need. Hope they didn't accidently go out in one of the trash boxes that Mr. HJ threw out. everyone please keep your fingers crossed cuz those are Lennox reindeer.

Looks like we are going to be really late this year. The 1st weekend in December (5th) looks to be the earliest we will put up our outdoor decorations and buy our tree. We will probably put up some of our indoor decorations a few days before but not all.
Good thing we celebrate the holiday season well into January so we can still get a full months enjoyment out of them.
