Well, kids - I have to turn the lights off and go to sleepy. I'm going to the B-E-A-C-H tomorrow and I will need the energy for all the touristy stuff I can fit in on Dvdguy's day off.
Merry Christmas! :wiggy:

:-) I have to turn in soon too. It's almost time to wake up. 3:35 here in slightly chilly Ontario, Canada.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/TuckeredXmasDay232x188.jpg Wonder if Santa gets zonked after his Christmas deliveries. Okay, so I didn't make any Christmas deliveries today, but I did a heap of "welcomes" with special greeting deliveries. Okay, it's not the same. I still get to sleep though, right? I'm too tired to sleep.
:) Catch y'all next time.
Good morning coffee drinkers! Save me a cup for later.

Good morning!!!!
:-)
I shouldn't have this much energy this early in the morning but the threat (I love the way the weathermen called it a threat) of cold weather, frost and a freeze warning tonite and tomorrow has put pep in my step. Or maybe because its about 50 below in my office. Anywoo, bring on the coffee and caffeine and lets buzz our way thru the day!
HAPPY HUMP DAY!

I over did it when I moved here. The first year I looked like I changed my race. Last year I over did it so bad I looked like a mutant. I was peeling everywhere. This year I didn't even go to the beach.

Art hisself is only on weekends now, during the week there is another host. Art Bell draws the most listeners when he is on. I like the shows on BIGFFOT as I am a believer.

I used to go to sleep listening to Prairie Home Companion but I found myself chuckling too much to sleep. Then I tried a quiz show called, What do you know? Same thing. Laughed too hard. Now I fall asleep to husband watching Simpson, Family Guy, Pokemon, etc. This is why I quote Homer Simpson so much. I learned everything I know about the Simpsons through subliminal suggestion.

:-) As far as sleep tonics go - I remember watching the global channel tuning into Night Drive - a camera in a car driving through Toronto, Ontario with elevator Jazz music playing - it was enough to put any insomniac to rest for the night or wee hours of the morning. When I lived in Toronto I used to listen to one of the stations and turn the volume down low to fall asleep, but the two early morning guys that were on the air kept me in stitches and I had to change my getting to sleep methods.
I remember counting sheep when I was little or thinking of the song that Ann Margrock sang to Pebbles on the Flintstones cartoon many, many years ago.
8-) If I can get my mind away from thinking about Christmas or work then I can usually get a good sleep.
:) Of course I have Christmas dreams throughout the year, I love those. I wake up expecting to find snow in August.

AuntieMistletoeDear

:stuffed: You cannot fall asleep at work! Quick! Sing some Christmas Music - loudly & dance around your workplace, do a few hearty "HoHoHo's" and you'll feel revitalized again.
 And excuse me, but are you saying that we are boring you with our cup of festive cheer this morning? Hmmm? Are you, huh?

Except when I was in the navy, I have never fallen asleep on the job. (Makes you feel safe, doesn't it? It was an eight hour a day quest to find a place to sleep without getting caught for some people.) Today I have the back door open and it's about 49º right now, so I'm wide awake. Plus, I plugged in a little nature scene thingy that Dad gave me. It has water running all the time so I always have to go, which a keeps me awake also.
Ervserver

you were not in charge of guns were you?
sheepsnot
10-12-2006, 08:29 PM
Yes, it was common and no, I wasn't in charge of guns. I was a diesel mechanic, down several floors below sea level working with the excons and such. Sleeping on the job was all some folks thought about.
dvdguy
10-12-2006, 08:33 PM

I was kidding, of course. Yes, it's vital, but not a position held in high respect. Not until the ship goes dark, that is.

John Wayne made a navy movie where he rammed a Uboat with his ship..if it weren't for the engine men putting her in full steam ahead he never would have made it

:-) I've been up since 2:30 a.m. almost time for a nap. I'm not navigating anything other than my brain and my fingers for posting since I've been on holidays the last little bit so I seem to be napping more than resting.
I used to be amazed by folks on subways and street cars who could doze off and magically wake up just before their stop. Weird.
Was the movie you were referring to with John Wayne called, The Sea Chase? He made a few WWII films. (Although not a fan - only enjoyed The Quiet Man - partly because my dad used to act out a few scenes for fun.)

auntie mistletoe: every year, my friend, mitch, has a huge st patty's party. one of the things that occurs during the festivities is the watching of THE QUIET MAN. the fight scene, of course, requires that all the men crowd around the tv, acting out the various parts! after 15 yrs of attending this party, i have still never seen the whole movie from beginning to uninterrupted end!!
