Are you serious???? I bought one of these out of a Lillian Vernon type catalog for my then boyfriend's rent house back when I was 18. I might have paid 20 bucks for it. I think it only lasted one Christmas.

I'm speaking of the vintage ones, do they still produce these?? I may need one.

I just found one at boxcompany.com. Its cute (doesn't look real sturdy) but is only 9.99

Saw one in either a Miles Kimball catalog or something similar. They said it was so realistic you could hang socks from it. Even Ray Charles saw it was junk. Supposedly 7" deep, about four feet wide and three feet tall, like you'd find in the Keebler household.

Yeah, they aren't much but I think they are cute, esp. if you have kids and no way for Santa to get inside. I have a wall in my entry way that would be perfect for one. Christmas is about being whimsical and Santa is suppose to be an elf himself.

Boy that brings back memories! We had one of those when I was 6 or 7. Of course it was only in black and white. :D

as a kid we really thought Santa would arrive thru them

Santa would have an easier time coming through a steam vent.

we didn't have a chimney and the thought of Santa coming in thru the sewer vent pipe wasn't as appealing

I've been thinking about getting a cardboadr fireplace for our apartment. I think Xander (our 2 year old) would love it.
