My christmas cd collection is lacking. Other than my acoustic post, what are some other cds you guys can suggest? I need some good party music. Maybe some cocktail lounge cds? Or just the very traditional...anything and everything! The only kinda of christmas music that im not the biggest fan of is the bluegrass kind. But im open to suggestions! :-D

Put in the Sinatra, dawn the robe and light the bubble pipe and you've got yourself a happenin' party. 8)

Seriously, Sinatra has a couple good Christmas albums. I love Sinatra's version of Jingle Bells. I think the classics like Crosby (Bing, not David) and Nat Cole that aren't overpowering fit the bill for good party music.

Since you mentioned cocktail themed, check here - http://www.ultralounge.com/ In addition to all the other CDs, look for the three CD Christmas boxed set.

As for traditional, there are so much of it out there, that I offer only one suggestion. Choose one series like Time Life, etc and stick with it. This will keep you from wasting money duplicating what you already have.
You'll understand what I mean when you get past about fifty CDs.

Untraditional? That will be me. Check out the many links here and at the music section over at the Christmas Place. Yule Be Swingin'!

I love the traditional songs...I don't mind when people record the songs as long as they stick to the way the song should be sung!

My favorite Christmas cd's & albums(yes Vinyl) are...

Without a doubt my absolute fave The Carpenters Christmas Collection

Clay Aiken's Merry Christmas with Love

Definetly Sinatra's Collection & Nat King Cole & Johnny Mathis' albums aswell!

I really love the classics of Christmas tunes......Bing, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. One CD collection I really get into is, Rhino Presents: Home For Christmas, a two-disc collection of some of the best versions of holiday tunes, ever. I actually ordered this off TV probably 11 or 12 years ago and actually wore one of the CDs out. :(

I also enjoy, Mannheim Steamroller and Trans Siberian Orchestra for instrumental versions of holiday classics and yes, even the organs and chimes. :)

That's the first and only time I've ever worn out a CD, myself. The two-disc set certainly was played over and over and over, again. I've been searching, trying to locate the CD to re-purchase, but so far, no luck.

I picked up a couple of bargain-priced Christmas CDs, today....

-Crooners Sing Christmas--With Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby.

-A Timeless Christmas--With Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Pat Boone, Gene Autry, Rosemary Clooney, Nat King cole and others.

Really great songs and the in spite of many of the same singers, I don't believe any of the songs that are on both discs are sung by the same people.

I have to say, I really was surprised to find myself enjoying Gene Autry's version of, Sleigh Bells!
