Our son just turned 2 and I am really wanting him to get excited about Santa this year. He doesn't talk much yet so we can't teach him how to sing carols or say Merry Christmas or anything like that yet. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him excited about Santa and Christmas?

I don't remember my parents telling me anything about Santa but from watching the Christmas shows and doing color books I would think any kid would get excited about it then ask the parent questions. Believing in Santa can provide great lessons in the power of faith for kids.

My daughters are 7 and 3 and I think every year we would just talk about who Santa is and what nice things he does and then we went to just see him at the mall and watch shows on tv. They learn. It's SUCH a fun time!!

Sometimes I swear we grew up in the same house. I don't remember Dad or Mom ever telling us about Santa, either. Dad always let us know how much overtime it was costing him to have a good Christmas. It's amazing how people equate the number of gifts with a good Christmas. I know if there aren't any it is pretty hard on both the kids and the parents, but it's not "the more the merrier," either.

I remember my folks being in a Christmas club at the bank. A certain amount was withdrawn from their paycheck and went into this savings to be used at Christmas time.
As a kid I wasn't concerned on how much $$ was spent per kid but rather who had the biggest present under the tree.

I need to start one for next year. It is a good idea. When do they release the funds, Thanksgiving?
