All good choices. I like Sam, but I'm also fond of Bumble.

Sam is my favorite as well. It's the vest. Gotta be the vest. I knew a good man, now gone, who looked remarkably like Sam. Good singer as well, and easily the nicest man I have ever met. So kind and gentle; I called him Grampa. His wife is easily the nicest lady I have ever met as well. She's probably 80 and runs a large prison ministry via correspondence courses.

The other day I was watching The Year Without A Santa Claus & noticed that when Mother Nature was telling Snow Miser to allow a little sunshine at the north pole and telling Heat Miser to allow a little snow, she looked at the wrong one each time. Check it out and see if I was seeing things.

Definitely Sam the Snowman, but Mrs Claus from Rudolph is also a fave.....I liked her and Santa both a bit more than in the other specials. :D

Ever notice the stark contrast between the Mrs. Santa Claus in Rudolph vs the Mrs. Santa Claus in The Year Without a Santa Claus? In the latter Mrs. Claus was way more stubborn and headstrong.

Okay speaking of sam the snowman did anyone notice the hints to rankin and bass or at least their rudolph characters in the Elf movie? I'm still thinking about my favorite animated character. I will have to get back to you on that one.

I don't even think they were hinting; I think they were paying homage to the masters. Will Ferrell admits to it in an interview with MTV. He also says the New York street scenes were supposed to remind you of Miracle on 34th Street.

The outside of Gimbels is a digitally altered view of the 34th St. Macy's, a reference to Miracle on 34th Street (1947). The Elf Costumes were also modeled after the Elves in Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Yes, I have noticed that trait in the latter. I just thought in Rudolph, Santa and the Mrs looked and sounded much better. Not to take anything away from Mickey Rooney or Shirley Booth, I just like the looks and sounds of the original pair a wee bit more.

Oh Cool and in the words of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that." Now I will have to watch the movie again to look for all that stuff.
