I think it may be a little bit obvious for me, Ralphie Parker of course!! He is hilarious and I can't get enough of A Christmas Story. Anyone else just love that movie?

of course! every year on my birthday I get a big piece of cake and then I stuff my face in it and then my sister says mommys little piggy over and over and then I make pig noises. we watch the christmas story every year it is funny and there is one sad part when that kid gets his tounge stuck on the pole and the fire department came and that was sad that is why I do not go near any poles during winter. and that one kid at the mall was so annoying 8-) he kept talking about the wizard of oz. and that santa was so mean and the elves where rough on the kids that is the part that was sad to me too.

Anyone else have dogs get into their kitchen and eat the turkey?

I had one dog get up on the table and eat an entire chicken once, but no pack of dogs and no turkey.

I love that movie, too. My TV is set on the marathon the whole 24 hours, even though I probably see it five or so times before Christmas Eve on DVD.

its a classic so I don't see why you wouldn't watch it all year long. it is mostly funny and it is a very good classic movie.

Back when I was much younger my mother took a turkey to the local meat locker to have it smoked for either thanksgiving or christmas and I guess they left it out or something because it spoiled. My dad cut it up and tried to feed it to my dog but I swear she took one sniff and gagged. Dont think we ever had this problem out of her!!!!

I'm all about the obscure supporting players... I love:

The polka dotted elephant from the Island of Misfit Toys
William Frawley's "ward heeler" character from Miracle On 34th Street
The Ghost Of Christmas Past from Mister Magoo (with that little flame over his head)
That kid in Frosty who keeps wanting to name everything "Oatmeal"
That kid in Charlie Brown (Shermy?) who does that weird "shoulder dance"

But my favorite is Max the Dog from the Grinch cartoon! cheesy

Santa's Helper

I love Ralphie Parker and the Old Man from Christmas Story. I also like Clark Griswold and the Charlie in a Box from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer when they go to the island of misfit toys. "No child wants to play with a Charlie in a box!"

Mary Bailey - she's the woman behind the man, always looking to George as her hero and seeing the good in everyone.

Of course I have more than one.

George Bailey, I love this character because he is the American spirit. He loves family and yet he wanted to do what he desired but put his own needs aside for his family and others. He just did what had to be done without questioning.
He was a son, husband, a father, a businessman with a heart for the people and a man searching for his destiny.

I love the character Buddy the Elf, because of his sweetness, childlike qualities, loving unconditionally and wanting to be loved. Ready to help without expecting anything in return.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one getting yelled at for saying all the words, we just watched it a couple of days ago, and will probably watch over the weekend, getting outside decor ready to be placed outside.

This is rather obscure, but I'll throw it out here anyway: the wandering stranger played by Donald Woods in "Star in the Night," the Academy Award-Winning Best Short Subject of 1946. (Yes, I love vintage movies.) If you have the "Christmas in Connecticut" DVD, it's on there as an extra, or keep an eye on TMC's schedule during December. It's an unknown gem.

I love Uncle Lewis from Christmas Vacation. I giggle just thinking about him.

Every one of his lines in the movie are gold.
"They want you to say Grace. THE BLESS-ING!"
"You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitroglycerin plant."
