I highly recommend this movie for anyone looking for a feel good Christmas movie. I had wanted to see it last year but since we were moving during the season last year I just now got around to renting the DVD and watching it. It is about a very functional-disfunctional family and it will make ya laugh and it will make ya cry. I am putting this on my must watch Christmas movie list.

Wow, you're the first person I have heard of tht likes that movie. My hubby and I rented it and hated it. Then everyone we talked to about it said that they thought it was a terrible movie too...lol.

I didn't really like it because Sarah Jessica Parkers character was pretty unlikeable....then again, so were all the other characters. I just found it hard to believe an entire family would be so mean and angry toward someone they'd never met before. Sure she made some mistakes and was kinda uncomfortable around them, but gosh, they were AWFUL...and I found the awfulness to be beyond the point of enjoyable and made me just plain uncomfortable. It was a little depressing toward the end too.

I loved that movie. I thought it was hillarious!!! I could totally sympatize with Sarah Jessica Parker's character trying so hard to impress her soon to be in laws. When my dh and first started dating the the holidays made me nervous. But not anymore....I just get treated like everyone else.

I thought it was a really slow moving movie and EVERYONE treated Sarah's character with such contempt at the beginning simply because she was different that it wasn't funny.

My friend & I went to see this movie when it was at the Dollar theater & we liked it very much! :grin:
