Wal*Mart Giving Tree

idk if anyone else has seen this, but the wal*mart here has a tre with various paper tags with gifts written on them for people who can't afford christmas gifts, one of the gifts was a package of diapers. made me feel depressed, i bought the diapers for them.

if anyone else's wal*mart is doing this, chip in a little please.

I didnt see it up when I was there Saturday but I believe our local Walmart does this too. I will be on the lookout for it when I go next time.

I saw a similar thing at my gym, but it was for soliders.

You can send gifts to soldiers overseas.

I'm totally going to pick up one of those tags off the soldier's tree and off the make-a-wish kind of trees (like you are talking about at wal-mart).

alot of the tags on the tree were small things, like toys, shirts, socks. it made me depressed. really made me grateful.

Sounds like a great idea. The wife wants us to forego gifts to each other this year and focus on causes such as that. I'll still have a little something tucked away for her cause come Christmas day, she'll probably wish I had gotten her something.

or if you know a family in need. I know my dad's church puts together gifts for needy family in their community but I don't know of any churches within 3 hours of me that do that.

I'm donating to Shop With A Cop program this year, cops go shopping with kids and buy toys, otherwise I guess they would get nothing.
