Does giving something old count as regifting?

I've regifted but only in cases where I think another person would enjoy a gift more than I would. I've got some friends who have no idea what I like apparently.

I was given a flannel shirt once and knew I wouldn't wear it, so I wrapped it up and gave it to the brother inlaw who did wear it.

regifting BAD!!!! For Christmas last year my sister gave me the SAME drinking glasses I gave her the year before. How did I know they were the same ones? Because I had written the date on the bottom of the box in small print. I was rather offended and told her about it, she said she hated the way the glasses looked and I told her that she had been saying how much she liked them BLAH BLAH BLAH. well this year will be different because if she gives me the cookies I baked for her last year I will honestly PUKE.

Oh my that's rather sad. Sometimes it pays to know what the person wants. :-D

I think the point is that if you are going to regift you have to do it in the appropriate way. I can't believe someone gave you a gift you gave to them!! hah hah.

Now if she'd given those glasses to someone you were never likely to meet...then it might have been fine.
