After seeing my sis post about the eggnog shake I am thinking of running out and grabbing some lunch. This is a very rare thing for me or has been since the end of summer since I have been doing the whole dieting thing but with it being the holiday week I am thinking of maybe indulging a little today. Lord knows I have earned it!! So what's for lunch today...I am not sure what I want to eat so give me some ideas.

A big burrito from one of those Moe's kind of places?
Then hit Steak and Shake on the way home for a shake?

Funny you mention Moe's because I just heard of that place yesterday for the first time. I guess we must be getting one out in West Little Rock. I have never heard of it but to hear them talk those must be some huge burritos!!
No Steak and Shake here anymore. I am SOL on the eggnog shake today.

You could just make one at home, or really, like I said...the shake wasn't any better than just drinking the nog IMO.
You guys don't have any of those big burrito places? I think we have like 5 different ones: Moe's, Z-Mex, Burrito Diablo (just went out of business), Salsaritas, and man I know there are more.
You know...whatever you do...make it a treat but don't totally blow your diet! You don't want to ruin all the progress you've made, do you? I felt the best ever last year when I ate a normal sized amount on Thanksgiving and didn't totally blow it out. I felt great! I know I'll probably get hit on the head for saying that on this board, but I'm just going to try to maintain regular eating and not totally gain tons of weight.
Oh and I always crave mexican food when I've been working out a lot and eating right.

I do crave Mexican too! For my reward for reaching my goal last month the BF took me to On the Border for empanadas and cheese dip! I do love Mexican!
But I ended up not going out, I am sitting here eating one of those EasyMac cups. Lowfat and low calorie and I wont beat myself up later for it. I decided since I still can't exercise due to my back there is no reason to splurge. I will be eating more Thanksgiving than I normally do but I am like you and dont want to gain and have to take it off again later.

Hey...so I have back problems too! It's horrible.
I used to lift weights pretty heavily then I tore and bulged a disk in January. Since then I've had to be a LOT more careful with what I eat and haven't been able to work out as hard. It's difficult around the holidays especially, plus I've got a serious sweet tooth. I just keep thinking about how good I feel about myself when I don't go nuts with the eating around the holidays. I also try not to beat myself up when I eat things I shouldn't. I just try to do better next time!
Right now I am working out a bit extra, but that's just so I can justify my one egg nog glass each night. hah hah.
Good for you reaching your goals and sticking with it!

I had two syringes worth of novocaine and a piece of gauze that I accidently swallowed.

Oh my goodness Dom.
Maybe you could get a bean burrito and suck out the inside of it? Are you eating any solid foods? I remember you saying that you were going to eat solid foods anyways, no liquid diet for you.

I haven't eaten anything since this morning. Honestly I don't have much of an appetite right now.

Following the "what's for lunch" theme, we had turkey, sweet potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, etc. etc. etc. & eggnog.

I bet his company had a potluck lunch. We normally do here but it seems each year they cut more and more out when it comes to the holidays. Before long I expect we wont even get them off.

Yep, it was our company lunch. I have to "spearhead" the thing or it won't get off the ground. Everyone is always thankful that someone cared enough to do it. I honestly haven't eaten a meal since yesterday at lunch. I have snacked like a bandit, but no meals. I noticed a couple paperclips starting to move toward me, so I suspect I am gaining gravitational pull.

The right man was certainly picked for that task...how much eggnog was there?
