I don't mind Valentine's Day but I do feel that the sentiments of Valentine's Day should be shown all year round. I would rather get flowers for no reason than get flowers because it's the one day of the year that you are supposed to get your wife flowers.

( i have an unusal life) my dh is also my first Valentine. so the day is special in that respect...

but after 16 years... we don't go all out... I usually make his favorite dinner.

Ironically I think we've all gotten the sentence wrong...

St Valentine, from what I understand went against authorities and married couples (which the government outlawed to keep the men solders)

and when imprisoned he wrote letters sign. your Valentine.

So I guess if we have him as an example.. we should be saying can I be your Valentine? not the other way around! :) :)

Quite frankly, the day angers me a bit. If not the day itself, then definitely the people who shove it down everyone's throat. Maybe it's all the red.

It is okay. I would rather get something from my husband just because he wanted to get me something, not just because he feels he has to because it is Valentine's Day. I did tell him this year all I wanted from him was a love letter. We are very low on money so that is something that doesn't cost anything and I will cherish it forever. I hope anyway! LOL!!

Its just another day for me that I have to think up something to buy for my wife since I bought her everything that she wanted for Christmas and she doesn't like flowers.
