Over the years, i have left, sugar, oatmeal, chocolate chip, gingerbread, and once, when my grandpa was here for christmas, Oreos, for santa. I know some people do the same cookie every year, so i was wondering if any of ya'll have a special cookie.

Cool, my favorite are most likely sugar cookies with loads of frosting! (Preferably cream cheese or real buttercream frosting)

My children and I usually start our Cookie making activites on Black Friday. We Wrap Santa a lil Box filled with our best cookies--Choco Chip, Sugar Cookies, OUR famous Milkyway cookies (just choco chip cookie batter but instead of chips we freeze then smash a milky way bar, or a TOFFEE bar!) and whatever else kind of cookies we make and then we leave them out for Santa to take home to the Mrs. and the Elves. After all Santa has already eaten at everyone elses house, and why not take some home for the ride and for the others who have helped him with Christmas??? :)

Eat them with a diet soft drink or herbal tea. Cancels out the calories. Honest. Same with pies and cakes; slice and leave for five minutes so the calories can leak out.

I got this from Reggie's Diner back home. Reggie wouldn't lie to me. :D

We leave a couple different kinds of cookies for Santa

We make sugar cut outs and our daughter will select which cutter will be used to make Santa's cookie. Once it has baked and cooled she will decorate it with frosting. A couple chocolate chip cookies and a reese brownie bite.

santa gets a big glass of nog (with a shot on the side, just in case he needs a little pickmeup) and nutmeg cookies.

It all depends on what I have made that particular week. It's usually Oatmeal Raisin. I eat all the sugar cookies. One year I made Welsh Cookies and left them out. Unfortunately, the ex ate all of them.

My 7 year old Nephew wants to be a Chef when he grows up so I usually let him pick the kind and we make them. Then we set some aside for Santa and eat the rest.

I have a recipe for Sour Cream Christmas Cookies...very light and moist. Kinda like a sugar cookie I guess. And I always make my own homemade frosting using powder sugar, milk butter and vanilla. Then I use food color to make different colors and let my daughter and friends decorate...

Eh, not really. It's pretty much all up to my mom. Sometimes we put out her homemade oatmeal cookies & sometime we put the break-n-bake Nestle chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes it's even walnuts. It all depends. =]

Our favorite cookies are peanut butter with a hershey kiss in the middle and chocolate chip with a reese cup in the middle. CC with a reese cup is the overall fave in my family. I use the miniature muffin cups and put the reese cup in at the end. I then sprinkle Christmas sprinkles on them to decorate them. These are actually the best when they are still warm!

That sounds soooooooo good. I LOVE Reeses. My favorite candy in the world... something about the bonding of the two totally different worlds of Chocolate and Peanut Butter.

We usually leave Santa a few different thing every year. I always make cookies trays w/ like 15 different kinds of cookies and treats so we pick what we think he would like. This year though, my mom and I are adding peppermint whoopie pies to the tray and I have a felling the big guy would like one of those.

:sparkle:For Christmas, I'm planning on baking two different kinds of cookies. Peanut Butter Blossoms, and oatmeal. I'm also making pumpkin bars to have over the Thanksgiving holiday, I thought it would be nice to make something special when we decorate the house for the holidays. I'm also baking pumpkin pie bread. I can't wait to start baking!

Gingerbread!! And oatmeal raisin.

For those of you who bake ahead of time. How do you store your cookies until its time for christmas? Freeze them? Or store them in a cool place? My mom makes cookies ahead of time and freeze them. But my dad and brothers always find them. Then she has to make more. How should she hide them from the boys?

MerrySouthernChristmas

We, the kids and I, usually make several batches of cookies. We pick a weekend in December and make them all at once. We like doing frosted sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate pixies, just about any kind the kids want to make. Last year we bought a cookie press and make several kinds of spritz cookies (regular, cream cheese, eggnog, peanut butter). We also make fudge, chocolate, peanut butter, and butterscotch.
