There is no doubt wwe all love Christmas. Its sad though that it is put on the most back part of our minds till early October ( a few months sooner for some).

It's never in the back of my mind! It's way up front with my favorite tv shows and how to do 2+2! (what was it again... fish? that doesn't sound right... 5? that's more like it...)

:-) The night before last, I had a dream. I was at a cottage and there were some faces I recognized and some I didn't. Someone shouted, "it's your turn for the kayak!" and I turned around and yelled back, "I'll take the next turn, I'm having a turkey sandwich first." And then, I stepped up to the carver and he asked, "white or dark meat". I had a half and half turkey sandwich because I couldn't make up my mind what taste I preferred. The dream took place in the summer (although it was -9 F with snow on the ground here) and I was still dreaming about eating turkey and there were mini multi-coloured lights blinking around the shelter covering the outdoor picnic area where turkey and ham were being served.
:hi: So, I guess it's safe to say that Christmas never leaves my mind either. If I'm not preparing for it or thinking about it or chatting about it, I'm dreaming about it. Christmas really can stay close to your heart. I know that it doesn't "stick" with everyone and that's a wish I make each Christmas. I always hope that several more people who love Christmas will keep the feelings longer and perhaps find their way to a Christmas forum and discover with the same amazement I experienced ~ that other people share in it's joys throughout the year so they won't feel like they are the only ones who embrace it between Christmas seasons.

It isn't in the back of my mind. My son and I have been watching Christmas DVD's every night before bed for a while. He also always wants what he sees for Christmas. My sister bought a Wii, and my husband said he wanted to get one. My son walked over to him, leaned in, and whispered, "Don't worry Daddy, I'll get Santa Claus to bring us one." You had to see the way he did it and the look on his face afterwards. It was so funny. He is just like his Mommy---a Christmas fanatic!

:D I like to drive my co-workers nuts with the daily (sometimes only on Friday or Monday) countdown to Christmas Day. Some of them will actually ask me how many days are left, others give me the "look" and others are still paying off bills from Christmas 2006. Those are the folks that cover their ears when they see me approaching.
:wiggy: Do whatever makes you feel Christmassy. I often wear reindeer socks. More often than not, I'm the only one who knows I'm wearing them, but it gets me through Wednesdays in Christmas-style.

I never put it on the back burner but I have other things to keep me busy and happy right now.
I just planted a wildflower bed in my front yard and they are already coming up. The bees will soon arrive to help these little fellows get along and everything will be full of color!
If I can't have Christmas lights then I will take flowers! And they smell pretty good too!

:wiggy: Since most folks celebrating Christmas view the Christmas Tree as their Centerpiece, carefully decorating it and critiquing it throughout the Christmas season, I have often felt that gardening takes on the same special care and attention. The colours might be a little different from those we see at Christmas, but they can become quite breathtaking just like a beautifully decorated tree.
:-) I can see a bit of grass now and there is a family of squirrels building a nest in the Aspen tree and a few chickadees preparing their homes. I'm not sure what will come first, my Spring Robins or the crocuses and daffodils, but after three months of cold and snow, I'm looking forward to both.
 I really want Christmas to come, but I also want to enjoy Spring, Summer and Fall because I don't enjoy the cold much anymore. That's why I like celebrating Christmas in July even if it's a modest celebration.
