This question was asked of me recently when a friend came to my house and saw the rather large collection of Christmas CD's tucked in a corner..."Bill?" I said, "one would have to stop listening if one were to start again!" He laughed, and then said, "you know my Aunt used to listen to that stuff all year...We all thought she was nuts but she was always smiling". "There ya go" says I. So? How about you? When do you start? And if you do start, rather than "continue" to listen to Christmas music, what piece of music do you reach for first?

I listen to it off and on during the year. When I need a pick me up, when I need some spirit, when I need to feel cool during the summer!!

But I really start listening full time somewhere around Thanksgiving. It seems to get earlier every year.

I love that audio version. I have that also.

I listen on and off all year, but start full time about the time decorations start going up in the stores around here, which is abut the end of August beginning of September.

I don't listen to Christmas music year round. I stop the day after Christmas, and I usually start listening to a song here and a song there in October. By November, it's pretty much all I listen to.

I listen when ever the mood strikes me which is at least a few times a month. However I do listen daily right after halloween. My daughter was listening to one of her christmas cd's this morning. My hubby looked at me and "said like mother like daughter" LOL! She is only 5. Just love it!

I stop listening to Christmas music the day after, just because it only fuels the post-Christmas blues. So I listen to other stuff, like beach music, that makes me think about summer.

But anywhere between Memorial Day and Flag Day -- usually the first really scorching day when I need to hide from the heat -- I start listening to Christmas music. It also puts me in the mood to work on my display through the summer months. You'll know you're in my neighborhood when you hear the whirr of lawnmowers and the rumble of motorcycles, smell steaks and burgers on the grill, and see someone in a garage with Christmas items all over (both in storage and out for display) playing Christmas music and working on projects.

So I dont throw the discussion into chaos I wont quote, just comment on most. 1st of all right now Im listening to Merry Christmas Radio, now playing "no place like home for the holidays". Nof For the replys/comments:

JayIsh: I listen to Christmas music year round, but not "all" year.

DVDguy: Yes, I remember.

Christy Carol: I could hit the quote button, although I start full swing about 7-10 hrs a day listening to Christmas music around the first or second week of November, but its all the way, full swing, 100% the week of Thanksgiving.

~ Christmas Radio has played Rudolph & sleighride with those last three comments. ~ I love sleighride ~

e_xander: Not related to music, however, I love it when the decorations start going up in stores, the lights are put up in town, can someone say its begining to look a lot like Christmas....In your mind, anyway.

dominick: I guess I could call that self-control......I dont have that when it comes to anything Christmas.

Minta: you sound like most of us, I would guess your daughter will probably be on the boards in a few years.

haaggar: ........just like the rest of us.........

MarthaK: I would love to see that,a long with neighbours reactions, speaking of that......how do they react?

Christmasfan07: yep............

Well lets see......Ive also heared the Christmas song. Ive never replied like this before, there was just so much I identified with I just had to comment on all, hope yall dont mind. As i get ready to hit submit, winter wonderland has come on......MAN IM READY FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!! YEEHAW!!!!!

In case you ever find yourself trying to reply to that many posts again, we have the multi quote feature with VB. For every post you want to quote, hit the "Multi" button to the lower right of it. Then when you hit post reply, each of those quotes will be brought up for you.

I've always been scared that if I listened to it all year it wouldn't be as exciting by the time Christmas came around... I mean I'll listen to a couple songs maybe once a month but I don't actually start listening to it until the radio station I listen to starts playing it(shortly before Thanksgiving).

Well, I listen to a little bit of in June/July (in honor of "Christmas in June/July"), then a little bit in October, and once November arrives, it's all throughout that month, and then again in December (up until the big day, and then a little bit the day after).

Same here, I start around now for a few weeks, then begin to get into it around the middle of Nov.

I actually stop listening to Christmas music the day following Christmas, as well, as it adds to my feeling of sadness that the holiday is officially over. I begin listening to tunes a bit at a time in September, near the end of the month, then again following Halloween and it's pretty much non-stop from 01 November through 25 December.

I guess for myself, there is no certain time frame as to when I listen to Christmas music. I listen to it whenever the mood hits me. I don't wanna over do it then I feel it will lose its meaning when it comes time to start in on it.

I do have quite a few CD's, but probably not as much as most of you fellow Christmas lovers here. I may need my Christmas music fix in a few days though!
