Just Wondering If Any 1 Has Bought Any Early Xmas Presents

No, not yet. We only buy a few in any case. With us, its more about the season than any gifts.

YUP!
I found a cute snowman turtleneck on clearence for my mom. Got a kids soap set for our daughter. She gets one very year and loves them. Couple stocking stuffers for the kids and one for hubby. I really won't start doing my main shopping until Oct.

That reminds me. I'm in bad need of some new Christmas cds.

All of my 70 or so hours of music is stored on my computer. I am way too disorganized to find any specific CDs. In fact, I'm not even sure what happens to the CDs after I rip them onto my HD.

Green Day - she's a Green Day fanatic!

No one in my family shares in my enthusiasm for Christmas - I have to force it on them! hehehe... no really, they used to complain about it, but when it comes time for egg nog, or special baked goodies, or gifts - theyre all for it.

Now we have an unspoken agreement... I ask for no help with decorating and what not, and they just deal with it. I won't let them spoil my good time!

It's kind of like that in my house. At least my one Grandma shares my enthusiasm.

Nope! I do love Christmas shopping but for some reason I always procrastinate. I just don't feel like Christmas shopping when it's 90 degrees outside. When the weather starts to get a little cooler, I start to get in the mood to Christmas shop. Sometime when the Halloween stuff starts coming out in stores. Not long now, really. About 2.5 months we'll start seeing progress towards the Halloween season! :D

I've actually made quite a dent in my Christmas shopping.

I've gotten gifts for my Dh's nephew, my mother-in-law, my mom, one of my sisters, my sister-in-law, and my Dh's neice. I've still got quite a way to go yet but I feel good having such a good start this year. It eases the last minute crunch on the old checkbook and frees up some additional time in December so that I can enjoy some other holiday activities!

I've collected about 10 presents so far. The back-to-school and Columbus Day sales are the best. I clean up my in-store shopping then and then finish off my list shopping online.
I like having the major gifts taken care of early, so that I can go shopping when the place is a zoo and not feel pressured to the point of getting tired and cranky. Going because you want to and leaving when you want to is the only way to deal with the Christmas crowds!

I started on the 5th of January on a cross-stitch project and finished that in april, a cross-stitched christmas table-cloth for my parents. Then I found the present I bought in february 2006 for my sister and her husband so I think they may get that this christmas. I´m making a gift for my boyfriend, been working on that for months. And I have gifts for my two little nieces and one of my girlfriends.
I think I have to check that Santa´s bag, maybe I will find some more gifts that I have forgotten all about....

I was gonna, really I was. I chipped in with my sister, for what I thought was a Christmas gift, for an elderly relative, but she gave it to him as soon as we got back from the store! :(

I have bought one thing for each of my 3 kids so far. Nothing too much. I usually don't buy too far ahead because their lists change so much with the Sears Wish book coming out and then all the new stuff that is advertised right up til Dec.24th!!
Haven't bought anything for dh yet and have no idea what to get him.

I agree!! I would much rather shop for Christmas when it's cold outside, hopefully with a little snow falling, Christmas decorations are out & the stores are playing Christmas music. I like to be in the middle of the "hussle bussle" of Christmas shopping - though I don't shop on black Friday - NO WAY! Lol!! This year our annual shopping trip is scheduled for Nov. 30th - I can't wait! :-D

The only thing I have bought for Christmas '07 is some Bath Body Works lotions I got for my 2 Godchildren & for the mail lady on clearance last year after the holidays. And I am working on crocheting scrubbies for my Mom, sisters & sister in laws - I re-stock them every year with scrubbies at Christmas. This year I am making them red & green! :)

We're going to try and give mostly handmade gifts this year. The few we have to buy are almost all bought. We just have to get a few stocking stuffers for our son, and I have to get a few little things for my husband.

Oh, goodness, no! We do a name exchange with all the adults on Thanksgiving, so there's no point in shopping before then for my family.

For my hubby, I usually get a few things online in November from Amazon.

I like shopping when all the stores are decorated, too! It's not too crowded if you go on a weekday. The weekend before Christmas is the WORST time to shop. I used to work at Victoria's Secret, and those 2 days were always way busier than Thanksgiving weekend, contrary to popular opinion. Christmas Eve always had lots of men in the store, very few women! The men were more last-minute buying gifts for their significant others, lol!

I have the presents for all of my far away friends already. I still need to wrap and box them for mailing, though.

This weekend I'm on a quest to get something my boyfriend wants either for Christmas or his birthday (Dec 5), an R/C helicopter.

We have 3 pre-teen to teenaged boys to buy for. I think we're just going to give them Gift Cards. I refuse to buy video games, and I know they won't want any books. Everyone else, we're going to try and give homemade gifts. I found this adorable custom made superhero cape for my 5 year old nephew that I think he'll love. It's even go this initial on it!

I have bought a few gifts already. I usually don't until around October, but came across a few things that I know some people on my list would want!

We don't draw names in my family or my hubby's. We ALL buy for EVERYONE! Yikes ~ it's a tough time of year for us financially. But, I LOVE it!!! I know it's coming, so we plan for it.

I do just love to watch the faces of our family as they open a gift from us. THAT is what Christmas is about!

Our children always get way more than they need from both sides of the family since everyone buys for everyone. So we don't have to buy them too much!

Even with all the expense, I wouldn't have it any other way!

most of MY family is getting food/homemade stuff. so that's inexpensive

DH's family hates homemade (grrrrr!) so need to buy for MIL and FIL. Already got something for the one uncle (gift cert to Hooters! His favorite!) Made a quilt for DH's Grandfather, he'll like it (I hope)

Kids are bought for, and their stockings are done.

Only need to buy stocking stuffers for me, DH, MIL and FIL.

Informed DH today that we're selling our christmas tree and getting me a new one. I refuse to put that mammoth together again one more time. I want one of those easy-to-assemble trees. I don't mind doing the lights, but cant stand pushing in all those spikey limbs, used to take me hours, especially with the boys "helping". AARGH!

I'm DYING to get a REAL LIVE Christmas tree, but with son's lung disease it's not a good idea. pout pout pout pout

i really should just pick bits and bobs up every week but i never do, i prefer to go shopping in the last week of november and get all of my presents in one! it's hard work but i love the atmosphere, the only thing is it seems like you have spent alot more than you would if you picked one present up every week. this year i am going to have a look on ebay and might get some stuff off their.

anyone have any suggestions of some home made gifts i could make?

I have not even started my shopping. But soon thou I am sure. I think making gifts is a great idea. They make the best gifts. Of course there are always the few that you may be stumped on, this is where a gift card comes in handy for their favorite place(s) they like to go to.:treeguy:

This year money is more scarce for my family (medical bills can be so expensive) but my sister and i have saved up $160 so far not much but we will make the most of it. I have a couple small gifts for my aunts and i also plan on doing baking for the holidays. That way i can give family, teachers, and friends gifts as well. I always want to do so much but someone always seems to get left out. Next year I am shopping through out the year to catch more slaes and not be so rushed and paying high prices on everything.

I have never ordered from them before but their prices are great and they have a nice selection of a little of everything to choose from. I'm just wondering if their shipping and handling is expensive since they don't list it.

I got three items shipped together in this package. There is a plush penguin stuffed animal with a "Baby's 1st Christmas" bib on it for my new nephew (approx. 16" in heighth), a Dallas Cowboys clip watch w/compass and a set of Dallas Cowboys star magnets. The total shipping for the entire box was only $6.49. I don't think that's bad at all!!

It really helps defray the cost per item on the shipping if they send multiple items in the same box.

I love LTD Commodities and ABC Distributing!!
